i think most ppl who edate r prolly in a bad spot mentally, or at the very least lonely enough 2 turn 2 the web,,, so i dont usually like being 2 critical of them. ┐(ﾟ ～ﾟ )┌
catfishing IS messed up but imo more often than not it really is just 2 chronically online teens who use the net as an escape....it usually wont go anywhere n theyll just ghost eachother after a while rofl
also sidenote; its totally unlikely ur gunna meet the person whose face they catfished u with...that ideas just kinda dumb (¬‿¬'')....

well usually if ur edating u will do video calls and voice calls, stuff like that if its acc a serious relationship so catfishing is more difficult!! also i would assume most people in online relationships do plan on meeting lol, but it is much harder than regular dating
