Seeing all of these blingees weirdly reminded me of how excited I was to start high school. I actually enjoyed school, and each year, I would work super hard to look my best on the first day. For Day 1 of freshman year, I had tried to dye my hair purple, but it washed out orange because my hair hates me.
I can't remember my shirt, but it was probably some black button up with a skinny red tie. I had on my first and ONLY pair of Tripp pants on: red plaid short pants (just below the knee) with black suspenders, hanging down, completely non-functional and just for looks. I grew up poor, so this was the only set of Tripp pants I ever got--and then a shitty bf stole them later on. -.-
On top of all of this nonsense, I had rainbow/black striped socks + vans with little pink penguins on them. AND eyeliner. Plus my orange head and black eyebrows that got me called pumpkin head that whole year.
Still, I remember being SO happy that day. I got to school early in the cool morning air before the desert reached midday when it would decide to scorch us all. The campus was enormous since it was a school for like 3000+ students. There was so much room to run around, a way bigger library than in middle school, and we even had co-ed PE, which BLEW MY MIND. I loved my high school, so, so much and all of the fun times and people I met there.
The point is, yay for flashbacks, and damn, I miss my pants.
