Welcome Back!
This is part 2 of my CD Collection (obviously)! I wanted to wait a little bit until I started to type up another blog, but who knows when this is going to be public. Right now, as I type this down, it is currently 9/2/25 at 7:28 PM. So far, I've enjoyed typing everything down and showing off my CD Collection. I will very much get back to updating my DVD blog as soon as the weekend hits. Maybe if everyone would like, I can always make bulletins instead of just adding them to the DVD blog. Or I can make a part 2 of the DVD, just like this blog! Or should I also show off my entire video game collection as well? Let me know in the comments :D
But, enough of that. Let's return to where I left off from the last CD blog.

The next album that was released after Insomniac was Green Day's 1997 album, Nimrod! Now this album is a little more interesting than Insomniac. Mostly because it was very different than what Insomnia and Dookie had. If you take the time to listen to both Dookie and Insomniac and then take a listen to this, the difference is there in the album. As in this album is more mature than the usual fat-punk rock style that Dookie and Insomniac have.

Alot of people that I have met say that they resonate with this album, and I can say that I also do. But not only is the album different in introducing more instruments, but each song has a different theme and meaning in the album. Songs like Jinx, The Grouch, Uptight, and the most popular song on the album, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).
And here's the inside of the album. It's very straightforward, but I do like that it keeps the yellow nimrod with it on the CD. This album is one I reccomend. While alot of their fans were divided at the time, it still has a lot of impact on Green Day today, even on their latest album.

The next album on the pile is this one!! Green Days Warning. While this one wasn't as popular as the previous album, it wasn't a bad album in my opinion. They definitely stuck with the style that Nimrod had, but this album has songs stuck in my head all the time, which I also have to finish the lyrics to.

The back of the album is consistent, and it does make me wonder where they were and why they were walking in that direction. Honestly, I would have loved to look at the place that was photographed there and then try to imitate the front cover 25 years later. That's probably going to be a project that I'll have to do one day. It's now on my bucket list!

And this is the inside of the album. Which does look like a big warning sign. But the only difference is that this warning sign is way cooler and the songs are greatttt. And there's another photo under the CD, and I want to go there and take a picture. I just gotta find out where that place is and go there when I get the chance!!

Now this one is an interesting one, as I rarely hear people talk about this album or any of the songs on this album. Even though this album is a compilation album, they have songs that aren't on any of their previous albums. This is Shanaigans, and it came out in 2002, right after Warning. (I was born that year :D ) Now, looking at the front as you see it now, you can't tell what it is without looking at the spine. But I do wonder if it's actual artwork on that wall or if it's just photoshopped. My money is that it's photoshopped.

And looking at the back, it's not any different. Though I wish they could of at least continued with the wall and made that part that picture you see now on the wall. It would have been odd, but I think it would have been something. But the songs themselves on the album are pretty hit or miss in my opinion. While they do have some okay songs, most of them are pretty forgettable. Which is probably the reason why I don't hear alot of people talking about this album, or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough at other people talking about this album. I don't know.

And looking at the booklet of this album, these songs are probably songs that were rejected by the higher-ups, that either weren't didn't have a chance or they said that some of these songs aren't good for the album. That may be the answer to it, unless I Google it, but I like to sit and theorize it first before finding out that I'm wrong.

And another compilation album here!! Not much to say here besides it having songs from Dookie, Nimrod, and Insomniac. So it's basically just a greatest hits album type, but they do have a few songs that weren't on their previous albums (no surprise there).

And here is the back!! Again, not too artistic, but there are songs that again, weren't on their previous albums. The songs are Maria, Poprocks & Coke, J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva). I do wonder why they weren't on their albums in the first place, but J.A.R. is a special case. The reason why J.A.R. was cut from its album (which was Dookie) was that it was actually used in a movie. So at the time, the only way you could have listened to J.A.R. was to get the movie soundtrack. And if you're wondering what movie it was used in. It was called Angus

Probably the only reason to own this album is to listen to the 3 songs that weren't on the releases, or if your local bookstore or record store doesn't have any Green Day albums and this was your only choice. But the 3 songs are actually really good, I'd give a reccomend.

And here it is. This album. My absolutely favorite album out of all the other albums in Green Day's discography. Not only is the album cover simple, but it's iconic. I'm sure if you show this to people on the street, they will instantly recognize it.

On the back, it's the pin from the heart grenade. And each song on this album is just a banger. Back to back, each song is just amazing. There is no word for how much this album means to me, but this album has helped me get through alot during my lowest period of my life at the time. And it still continues to help me.

And the inside of the album, while again simple, it's consistent with its theme. And also, did you know if you put the CD in your PC, it doesn't play the album; it actually opens a program telling you to text a certain number to get the exclusive ringtones. Which is just amazing, but that number is probably either dead or it now belongs to a different service. As much as I do want to figure out where that number goes, I would rather not, just in case it ends up calling a random person. That would be a story to tell one day if I ever end up doing it.
But that's it for Part 2!! As much as I wanted to keep going, I think the text box was finally reaching its limits, and I think I've written all that I wanted. And even then, the website to upload images to paste on this blog was already full, and now I have to wait for it to clear up so I can post again.
So tune in for part 3!!
Thank you for reading :D
Until next time everyone!!
