Storytime about the time I almost got murdered (true story) 

One day me, my sis & my friend were hanging out, talking, laughing, having a good time like we did everyday. But it got late my sis decided to leave early at 7 or 8 pm but I was having too much fun & didn't wanna leave so I stayed. We hungout, laughing, having a good time then it was about 10 pm which was very late & our area was known for being very quiet at night, like no one would be out at this time. It was always silent at this time. So I said goodbye to my friend & went downstairs. As I was about to leave I saw some movement from the bush a little far away from me in the front. I looked in that direction & saw a shadow. It was very dark but I was trying to make sense of what it was then I realized it was a shadow of a man in a hoodie but before I could react the guy started chasing after me with a knife in hand. (Side note: My friend always kept her front door unlocked which me & my sis always used to make fun of) My head jumped into fight or flight mode so I ran back upstairs, heart racing but I didn't scream bcz I didn't wanna wake people up... Yes I know very dumb but I was a dumb kid. When I was at the top of the stairs I looked back but he was walking away. Then I waited a bit cz I was scared he was gonna come back. After a while I ran back home. I didn't tell anyone. Then the next day my dad was watching the news & they were talking about a man who killed multiple women brutally with a knife in another city & that he recently moved to our area & they were alerting us to not go out at night bcz that's when he attacks. When they showed the picture, it was him. I knew it. The man in the hoodie. I was so disturbed by this that I didn't tell anyone this for years until a few years ago when I told my sister & my cousins. Idk if my cousins believed it but my sister did cz she knows I wouldn't lie about something serious like this. So basically if my friend didn't keep her front door unlocked I wouldn't be here rn so I'll never make fun of that ever again.
