Pain is an important part of living. It's a dimension of our limited perception. I understand the desire and need to avoid pain. BUT I WANT TO FEEL MY PAIN. I almost always avoid the drugs against pain. Because not feeling the pain isn't a solution at all. I'm sick right now, my body hurts, cuz my mom insisted I take the pills. Normally, I will refuse to do it, because the pain is information and I don't want to lose information. We are born almost blind to reality; why also be deaf? If pain doesn't unable me from working, I will prefer to feel it. In this case, I took the pills cuz:
Recuperation time without pills = 7 days.
Recuperation time with pills = 1 week
Obviously with pills it's faster!!/sarcasm /reference. Talking seriously, the reason is cuz my mom cares about me and I wanna to give her the pleasure.
Also, a reason for no-avoid pain is because it is fun. Do things until pain is fun, reminds me of my fundamental situation on existence (sometimes that feels SO FUKING GOOD, and sometimes it feels like hell, the difference is my previous state). I don“t say go for pain (usually you shouldn't do it), I say don't really care about it, feel it. Another reason is: Our EXTREMELY limited minds need contrast. If you don't have contrast, our mind doesn't understand things well. How do you know where you felling well, when have you ever felt something worse? I know this may sound like masochism, but it is a philosophical conviction. (masochism isn't the only reason)
If you had starved, the food would taste better; if you had pain, the calm would feel better too.
In this defense of pain, I don't resort to "pain makes us human" or "pain makes us better" or some variant of that. Cuz the pain (or some variant of the concept) is almost a universal constant for living beings (from bacteria, through plants and fungi, to humans and AI), so pain doesn't make us humans. The pain reminds us of our fundamental situation as living beings. And the pain is just pain, doesn't make you better, or stronger, or weirder, or smarter, or rotter, or more broken, or something else! THE PAIN IS JUST PAIN. Almost all of the changes that generate pain aren't a consequence of pain itself. It's a consequence of the system that processes that pain.
If you heard my words, I hope that you feel your pain as it is, just pain. And don't deny reality.

Rain!
damn, i actually havent really thought of pain like that, but what you said makes perfect sense. There is a reason we dont always want to feel the best feelings, have good opinions on everyone and eat the best food. Humans need balance.
You always feel the best after crying
Yes, I cry very often! /joke but not a joke
