in what moment something is TOO nerdy

cause the whole YOU NEED TO NERD OUT TREND got me into thinking that even so people can have niche interests, those interests have photos, drawings or something to set them apart because of the large fan base those projects/things/music/etc have -

while things that are also interesting but TOO niche can not be shown directly without a whole explanation per se, making it imposible to share if not the other party interested. or is it just that the whole trend is made to reject this type of interests that can only be shown by language and discourse?

anyway, this was prompted because I wanted to put in my NERD out trend the fact that im a Nerd for the history of cards and couldnt get an idea to fully represent that without putting a card png and writting: "history of card". Have sme book about history here:
