Helloo, how you doing? Welcome to my blog
I hope this past month was full of joy and beautiful things. If not then I wish to give you a moment of peace, art and reflection.
Let's talk -
Inspirations
As an artist I find inspiration from pretty much everywhere, I was taught to observe and learn from the world around me which is becoming pretty much difficult lately with the overwhelming amount of images I see everyday online. I sometimes forget how to observe because I see too much, but how can an artist channel the things really useful to their art? I don't really know right now ahaha, but I'm trying to understand that. The thing is all artists want to find a style and have a unique voice, I'm searching for that too but my style is changing every time I draw so I came to the understanding that it's not important to search for that but to have a journey (maybe the style is the friends we make along the journey ahah).
But we were talking about inspirations. So, I've gone to an exhibition of a really amazing artist: Yoshitaka Amano. He did some amazing art for Vampire Hunter D and Final Fantasy. His works are amazing, his style is so unique and I was telling myself "damn i want to be an artist like that, make beautiful things" and I know I think this every time I see an artist I like lmao. His art really inspires me to go BIG because you know what else he really likes to do? Painting with automotive paint on aluminum. Some of this paintings are so big they basically cover the walls, the details in them are crazy. But like it's not that they are in his usual style which is pretty dark and with a lot of black color, they are so colorful and vibrant.
It's obvious that an artist would eventually do things differently throughout their life but this is so much easier to apply to other artist than to us, or me. No I have to find a unique style asap and stick with it, as id finding the right style for my art is the bigger problem, it never was and never will be. The style of an artist is just how they draw in that moment, some find rules or ways to do things that are the same every time even with different mediums, other maybe not and that's okay. Maybe I'm just too young and need to find my own way to do things yet, who knows.
Anyway, this artist taught me that I need to take my inspirations just as much as I need to make them mine, and not think "wow i wish to be like that" every time I see something I like. I am already the artist that I wanted to be when I was younger. My younger self is also an inspiration because she had the courage to take this path even if there were other things she could do. Art was always my thing because I chose that.
These are some of Amano's artworks I saw at the museum.

Projects
Miku Italian Tour fanzine
Okay sooo, i was working at some projects this months and finally one of them is out!! I'm talking about the Miku Italian Tour fanzine for which i did some illustrations and a postcard for the merch.
For context: yes I'm Italian (that explains my broken english ahah be patient with me) and I'm from Rome!!
This fantastic zine was born from the brazilian miku trend and every country did an Hatsune Miku from their country. So a lot of italian artists did their version based of their own region and they accumulated by the days and this amazing girl wanted to do a proper zine where Miku actually traveled through Italy! It was fun and long to do, but it turned out pretty amazing. The designers and organizers did an awesome job and I'm proud of this project, so check it out (even if it's written in italian).
Here's my entries for the zine:

Epico il musical character design
So i don't know if anyone of you knows Epic (a musical about the Odyssey) and I stumbled on a girl on instagram who was searching for illustrators because she wanted to translate the musical in italian. So this project is still a work in progress and she is working with singers and us artists to bring this thing to life. On the end of May-early June she tells us that she needs some character designers to work on the characters of the musical, so I offer to be a character designer so here I am!!! I'm still currently working on some characters, the only one finished is Ares. We are trying to keep the deigns more historically accurate so we are working a lot. I'm really excited for this project and I hope to show you something soon.
Maelle - Clair Obscur Expedition 33
SO, I've recently finished the most beautiful game of my life. Expedition 33 has burned deeply in my heart, from the first act to the epilogue. I was always to the verge of tears, every character is so dear to me (Gustave my boyyyy). I genuinely think this game is an artwork in every aspect, you are literally living a painting and you are painted as well as you are painting. I don't want to give spoilers for the ones who didn't finish the game yet or those who wants to play it. You just have to know it's amazing, regardless of the type of gameplay you like or not this game HAS to be played.
All this to say, I've made an oil painting of Maelle and this is the first in three years I make and I'm almost shocked that I remember how to paint lmao. It's not finished yet but I really like how's turning out.

Stucky college au
Okay this is the project I'm looking forward the most because is more
personal and kind of a challenge for me. I'm trying to see if I can work
on something long term and I hope I will not give up after a week ahah.
Basically I was thinking about Bucky (like always, he's constantly in my mind lol) and I thought "what would he be like with black nail polish?" and I spiraled from there to the image of an emo/punk Bucky and then "What if it's in college/uni?" I called it college au but I don't really know how college works?? Like we don't have them in Italy, just university right after high school. I will do some research anyway.
So I thought about a story for Steve and Bucky in college, where Steve is fighting through depression trying to find his path, he doesn't believe in himself and even if it's obvious he's an artist he still struggles to understand that. So okay Steve is in the wrong course, even if he's really good (idk something about politics and stuff about that), but that's not his thing, he's a sensitive soul he's born to be an artist.
Bucky is a rebellious guy, he goes to protests and does voluntary work to help people. He reads to the eldery and hosts a reading club for children. He's kind and passionate, but also mysterious and private. He is obviously very dedicated to literature, which he's studying with his best friend and almost sister Natasha.
You will hear about this au A LOT from me because I want to be dedicated to this, but I also like to share things about my favourite character.
So how they met? I don't know yet, I mean kinda yes but I think they exchange gazes from afar and sometimes there is a shy smile here and there but they never talk to each other. Steve is the one who has a crush first. Bucky is the one who fells harder but he's more complicated, he has walls and Steve looks like the type of guy who wants to play with him (he will chance his mind later obv).
That's it, I'm sorry this explanation is loooong but I want to talk about them so much.
Also these are the concept i made so far of Bucky and Steve.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart if you reached this point, it's a lot to read this time but I hope I brought you some more art in your life and a moment of happiness, curiosity and peace in your day.
Byee and stay creative <3
