I really like Sabrina Carpenter and her vibe.
I’ve always been a pop girl, that’s what I generally listen to. And around last year I had a Sabrina Carpenter phase. I learned Emails I can’t send by heart and Short N Sweet as well. Okay, I’m not an old fan, I know, but that won’t make me less fan than any other.
Now, the new album. In my opinion, it felt rushed. Not because it was badly done, but because of how soon it was published and the hype it expected. I don’t know, that’s what I felt. Aside from that, the album is quite good.
Of course, I’m not a musical professional, but I think it keeps that vintage vibe Sabrina has with a hint of darkness that makes it fun. Short N Sweet was more colourful, with pastel tones and cute fits. Man’s best friend brings out colours like beige, black and white. I think it’s a good way of keeping her style and renovating her era’s.
The lyrics are good. Dude, Sabrina made us think of a house sexually. That’s masterful. I mean, not everything is too good to be loved as classic albums. It’s definitely not made for children, and I fear that a 10 year old girl will sing Tears out loud and get grounded. That’s probably the most problematic thing about the album.
About the beats, I think they belong in a cafe. I really like how simple and vintage they sound to me. The saddest song has the happiest vibe, which just shows more of Sabrina’s ironic humour.
It’s problematic and what? I love it.
