The para para routines I know ranked by difficulty

Hello and welcome to another blog by Sunny ! Today, I'm ranking the para para routines that I can do by how difficult they are, starting from least difficult to most. I got this idea just now after doing a 'para para marathon', if you will, of the para paras that I know (which fyi isn't actually very much... trust me I'm working on it).

Disclaimer: These are my personal opinions on the choreographies that I personally find the easiest and hardest ! They may not seem difficult to you, but because I'm not very good at para para and don't really know a lot of routines, they are to me ! Let's go !

Easiest - Yesterday/Cherry

 https://youtu.be/ztZvD40TbHE?si=3aH3UkXTZNc9XuUp

This was the first para para I learned and probably the easiest ! It's quite repetitive in nature, and doesn't really have any complex movements. The arm movements are simple and so is the footwork, only being stepping from left to right. I must admit, as a first para para, it did seem difficult at the time, but when I do it nowadays I just find it overwhelmingly simple and easy compared to others. I actually tend to forget a lot of the movements because they are that basic. No slander to the routine tho, I still enjoy it and the song !

Winnie the Pooh

I don't really have that much to say about this one apart from the fact that it's also very simple. The movements are a bit less repetitive but they're very simple which makes up for it. There is slightly more footwork, especially in the pre-chorus, but the dance overall is so simple and short that it hardly takes a lot of time to learn.

One night in Arabia

I recently learned this one and it only took me about 10 minutes to learn lol. The moves are quite repetitive and simple which made them very easy to learn for me personally. While there is a bit of variation in the footwork, it's not too much. This is also one of my favourite choreographies so far despite it's simpleness.

Ganguro

This is also quite an easy routine also because of the fact that it's quite repetitive. The only reason this is ranked slightly more difficult than One night in Arabia is because of the switching in footwork. Sometimes it'll go left and right, sometimes back and forth, sometimes shuffling left and right and sometimes stationary. It's easy enough for beginners but also provides a bit of a challenge for them as well.

This could actually be interchangeable with ganguro, but I think this is just a tad bit more difficult because it isn't as repetitive as ganguro. Yeah, it definitely still has some repetitive moves, but the chorus part of the routine for me ranks this one above ganguro because the hand movements can seem a bit confusing at first, especially near the end of the chorus ! Also, there is variation in the footwork like ganguro, sometimes stationary and sometimes moving left and right.

Velfarre 2000

Now this definitely has a lot more variation in footwork, constantly switching from being stationary, having one foot behind the other, stepping back and forth, left and right, etc. Also I feel like it's quite a bit longer in length than a lot of the others and is a bit less repetitive, especially in the chorus. The fast hand movements of the post-chorus part of the choreo definitely bumps this up in difficulty for me. I learned this a while ago but it actually took me quite a while to learn lol

Hardest - Do you wanna dance

Now this may seem a bit random because the dance moves seem relatively simple/easy to remember. While yes, that is true, and I did learn this incredibly quickly, I'm ranking it this high up because it is so much more exhausting than the other choreos for me !! Imo there isn't actually a lot of para para to it, by that I mean not a lot of your traditional para para dance moves. There's a lot more whole body movements, like jumping, jogging, fast and unconventional arm movement. Hell, a lot of the choreo involves doing star-jumps ! And it requires a lot of energy. It feels like I've done cardio or some kind of zumba when I'm finished instead of your average para para. This reason alone is why it's at the top of my personal list.

Anyway, that was my personal difficulty ranking of para para routines that I know ! I'd love to know your easiest/hardest ones, or any suggestions for para para routines that I should learn ! If you made it to the end of this blog, I hope you have a sunny day !
