OC rant pt.1!!

Hi everyone!!!! in this blog entry, im going to talk a lot about my ocs and their universe!! since this is my first post about them, im going to focus more on the worldbuilding and the different universes they live in!!!

for starters: i have a bunch of ocs, and all of them are scattered through 5 different universes, but for this entry, i would like to focus on my most developed one, which is veridium!

veridium is a small planet filled to the brim with greenery, many different anthropomorphic beings co-exist in this land, being scattered around the 4 main continents- the north harbor, south harbor,  the port, and the gulf

veridium is also guarded by 3 celestial sisters, each of them providing for their people, and protecting the planet from huge disasters

  • dea- godess of the light, responsible for chaining the planet to the sun, and controlling the day/night cycle in *some* nations, and caring mainly for the bird folk;
  • her younger sister, vyrdi- godess of the earth, responsible for protecting and nurturing the forest and its animals, and caring mainly for humans and beast-folk;
  • and the youngest of them all, caerulea- godess of the water, responsible for controlling the currents and carrying water to all corners of their earth, and caring mainly for the faeries and merfolk

now its here that things start to get fun- each one of veridium's nations was made to reflect some type of irl culture that i admire, those being

  • Aromia- a coastal country inspired by france and italy, it is the home to a specific category of beast-folk that are related to plants. the streets of aromia are all beautifully adorned with vines, plants and flowers of all kinds, along with the carefully built brick buildings, i find it to be the most beautiful country out of all of these.
    Aromia is famous for their suspended railroads, that reside above the ceilings of many buildings, being held up by giant pillars decorated with vines of all kinds, you can find trains coming and going from everywhere to anywhere every few hours, after all- aromia is a huge country filled with merchants trying their best to make coin, so naturally the railroads are going to be as busy as can be.

the most charming points of the country are:

  1. Gare Florale train station - Aromia's main train station, connecting every single city in the country into one huge net of railways, while filled with people 24/7, its a beautiful place filled with merchants selling goods of all kinds.
  2.  St. fleur botanique garden - Aromia's botanical garden, the biggest building in all of the country, with a glass roof, long corridors, and different kinds of plants everywhere, its super easy to get lost, mistaking the garden for an actual forest.
  3. Mairie prefecture - the palace that once belonged to the royal family of Aromia is now the main center of political affairs, not only it holds all type of conferences, meetings, and grand events, it is also responsible for all of Aromia's mail.

  • the bird's province - also know as simply "Province", it is a region divided between two distant lands, and even tough they're so distant from each other, they are extremely similar in culture, it was inspired by latin america, and the bird population residing in the amazon rainforest.
    The Bird's Province is a nation formed entirely by bird folk, its buildings reside on the branches of huge trees, being connected by bridges and ziplines, it is famous for its cozy and welcoming community of locals, that enjoy helping tourists at any chance given.

The Bird's Province was formed as some sort of "sanctuary" for the bird folk, that were slowly dissapearing into extinction. soon after its formation, word got around, and now it is the main reuniting point for bird folk all around the world, and other types of people, like mole folk and merfolk.

The most charming points of the country are:

  1. Peceleste lake- A huge sparkling blue lake surrounded by giant trees, being connected by bridges all around. It is home to a small community of merfolk, residing on the marine caves connected under the lake. they say that the lake's shining water gains life every full moon, but that was never proven to be true
  2. halcón docks - on the province's seaside, there are long docks full of aircrafts and ships dedicated to travelling and transporting goods from all around the sea, along the boardwalks hanging on the trees, there are rows of market stalls, selling all kinds of goods

  • Chamsedinne kingdom - a kingdom as old as time itself, it is the only nation that resides in the south harbor, and only 1/3 of it is populated. The chamsedinne kingdom is inspired by arabic and indian cultures, with chamsedinne meaning "sun" in arabic. the entire land of chamsedinne is a huge desert, with ruins all around, proving the existance of an ancient civilization that came long before the chamsedinnes.
    The Chamsedinne kingdom is a lively and joyful place, with lots of festivals coming and going every few weeks, but all of that came to an end once an ancient demon was freed from the underground realm that imprisoned him. Once he regained his full power, he stole the leadership of the Chamsedinne kingdom, and forced every single citizen to forget their true identity, by making them use identical masks and robes. Death rituals are organized every week for the demon lord to maintain his full force, and living resources are now scarce in the city. after some time, the people of Chamsedinne fully gave up on trying to go back to their old lives, always being watched under the demon lord's eyes, only a person with a heart of pure light could penetrate through his spells and finally free themselves of the hypnosis controlling them, but once the others notice you are acting like yourself again, they will go after you and make sure that you are gone my the next sunset

the most charming points of the country are:

  1. Chamsedinne city - the country's only city, it was once colorful and lively, but now it is extremely close to its downfall, with wrecked buildings everywhere, and nonexistent food anf water supplies, every day for the people of Chamsedinne is a struggle, though they keep on living, unconsiously hoping that one day, they might be saved by a true hero
