Superiors.Nippon

In a bulletin post (that may or may not be still up by the time you're reading this.) One of the questions in that post was "what is my favourite article of clothing?" to which I answered a cream coloured jacket from the clothing franchise Senpais.jp and I promised my oomfie, Stray, to post the other clothes I have from Senpais.jp since they all follow a similar style of edgy/alternative goth anime clothes which I find to be really cool.

Now, I should say that while Senpais.jp makes clothes for both male and female, it tends to be more female clothing than male I've noticed, a lot of crop tops and skirts which while neat, I wouldn't look good in either (not that i've tried... yet... no, it's not happening.) Their clothes also has a lot of print-ons and things like stitches and spikes, which while befitting the aesthetic of their clothes very well, I don't really like wearing clothing like that, I already don't like wearing something like jeans a lot of the times because I find how they feel on my skin to be really uncomfortable. So things like print-ons which can stick to my body or metal touching me, isn't something I'm going to like. I bring this up, since a lot of their clothes are like this. Not to say it's a bad thing necessarily, I'm just very fuzzy about that kind of thing.

The first senpais.jp article I've brought was this shirt. All of their clothes has a unique name which are quite funny and helpful for identifying the various articles. This one is called "Intentional Damage"

I took me a while after I brought it that the girl in the picture is some kind of demon and that she's... intentionally damaging herself... anyways, this particular article has holes on it, which I don't mind, and it's a good one to start off with as we can see some iconography that is common throughout their clothes. Mainly, their logo being plastered on the shirt somewhere, the "X" across the eye, and the sketchy art.

Sorry for the crumpled shirt, I'm normally pretty good about folding and ironing!

After this first shirt, I proceed to purchase a couple other knickknacks. Mainly these pink socks (which i don't remember the name of, sorry) and this Jacket which I love very much

About a year after getting this one (and when the Queensland pop-up store shut down ;_;) I got this one when I was in Sydney for Miku Expo 2024. I believe this is called "Kurt Angle"

Nononononono! Wait a minute! Hold on just a sec! What I was meant to say is "Hurt Angel"

This probably the article I wear the least, it's mainly the side stitching, which tbf, doesn't feel bad on my skin since it's not a print-on

Kinda looks like a heart weirdly enough, but it feels a bit heavy on the side to wear because of it.

The design on the back is fantastic at least. I really like Gothic Lolita stuff and these character designs are super cute and I like that Angel Dog makes a cameo appearance (Angel Dog and Demon Dog being kind of the senpais.jp mascots)

After this, another year has passed and I would be at SMASH! 2025 in Sydney. I haven't gone to any other conventions besides this one, and despite anime not being as much of my thing as it used to be, I still go every year to catch up with friends and to waste a lot of money on the artists market and other random crap. Considering I also work for a government job, I sleep well at night knowing that I'm inadvertently using taxpayer money on manga and anime figures. Senpais.jp seems to also like SMASH! about as much as myself, since they've helped promote the not-for-profit convention and collabed on some smashing designs (i'm sorry.) They had 4 new items (2 shirts, and 2 jackets) I really only wanted one of the designs, for one, I lost my actual jacket at the con ;_;, and for two, I love the colour

I wish there was a bit more black to contrast the amount of pink, but pink is my favourite colour, and it's nice to have a pink jacket, especially one as aesthetically cool as this

These two characters on the back aren't ones associated with Senpais.jp. They're instead SMASH! mascot characters, Skadi (the short one) and Cyrus (the tall one.) The branding on the side kind of suggests their might be other senpais.jp hoodies made in collaboration with other conventions. I'm curious if that's actually a thing.

Lastly, and the most recently one I have brought on my last trip to Sydney is this one...

a bit plain, don't you think?

Let's fix that!

'Ere we go, that's more like it. This is Ao Oni Alcoholic. God, she's so me (I don't smoke, I don't drink vodka, I don't wear maid dresses, I don't have piercings, I don't have long hair, I'm not a chick, basically, I'm nothing like her.) I normally don't like wearing white because they're a pain in the ass to maintain, but beyond the design, I just like this one, I think it was a good idea to put the design on the back this time since it won't get stained as easily, and there's no print on aspect to this one, so I'm comfortably fall asleep with this shirt on if I wanted.

Anyways, that's all I have for now! Next blog post will be a game review, probably on Kirby Dreamland 3. Oh and I finished Valis II and III since the last blog post, to quickly summaries, Valis II was kinda mid, but I would recommending checking out Valis III, it's actually a great action platformer game which reminded me of Castlevania 3 quite a bit, it's not as good as CV3, but still, very solid and I do recommend checking it out!

resisting the urge to fly to the other side of the planet just to go to this store

There's actually another SMASH con this year I just found out tonight, so I actually have an excuse to go down to Sydney again and buy more of their clothes. But yeah, it kinda sucks how their online store is so rarely active. Like even just for me, someone who lives in the same country, it does suck not having at least one permanent store in the same territory I currently live. There's also another permanent store in Victoria, Melbourne but I have no reason to go to Melbourne (and also, it's more expensive since I don't have any friends who live there where they'll let me crash at their place for a couple nights ╮(╯∀╰)╭)
