Eurovision 2025 rant

Okay, so I know this is slightly off topic from everything but since i am european it is within my blood to discuss eurovision. I've been rewatching the 4 hour Eurovision 2025 livestream from may, because I genuinely love all of the songs and its for some reason great to have in the background when I'm working, like what's not to like about a banger soundtrack when I'm writing a dreaded essay. I'd only seen highlights before, and HOW did Portugal come 21st?? And Switzerland with THAT song coming 10th?? Huh?? I was CONVINCED Voyage would come top 5. BOTH of those songs brought me to tears listening to both of those songs. Am I saying that Austria didn't deserve to win? Absolutely not. JJ was literally STUNNING, but I'm also like both Voyage and Deslocado should've placed higher. Deslocado especially when you consider the messaging behind it connecting so deeply with moving countries from one place to another which is so Europe considering how close together the countries are and how common migrating around Europe is. Or maybe I'm completely insane and biased because it's a concept I understand and connect with lmao. The live performance as well, I might be crazy, but the vocals genuinely feel so painful in a way, like you can feel the emotions of the song through the vocals and it shows so much compared to the studio recording. Same for all the Eurovision songs tbf, but specifically with this one, considering the messaging, the way the lead singer pronounces some of the words is HEARTBREAKING. THE EMOTION. OH. MY GOD. Either way, Deslocado forever has a place in my heart, imma link both performances on here so what I'm on about makes sense, because it DOES. AND YOU CANNOT TELL ME OTHERWISE. Honourable mention to Ukraine's song Bird of Pray i cannot get it out of my head the way the female backing vocal harmonises so nicely grr it just scratches a little area in the back of my head. To contrast the glazing I've done for these songs most people think are ass, Norway's entry should've been ranked lower, like the backing vocals sound clanky and the vocals do not sound nice, and honest to god why did Australia's milkshake man not qualify but Lighter did?? Huh?? It just feels so coworker music and basic, and there's so many other good songs that were genuinely beautiful that I think should've been placed higher (as previously mentioned) but somehow the people love it? Maybe I just don't get it. Other than that I don't think there were any other songs that I didn't especially like. France's song was a liiiiittle mediocre, and as much as I love Tommy Cash I do think he should've placed lower despite the performance being very fun.  anyways thats all, shad out :P
