Deceit - This Heat review (REPOST)

Wow man this was a dreadful album, and I mean that in a good way. It's not often I say that because I think post punk is for people who cry and fart on their balls but this one is really good. In a way this is a bit of a concept album, all of the songs are about the threat of nuclear war or humans being greedy, it's not a very uplifting record but what the fuck do you expect with a song called Suffer Bomb Disease. Speaking of which, the tracks reflect the themes very nicely, most of them have either have monotone vocals paired with dissonant harmonies or pyschotic screaming, both of which I love. It's very disorientating and almost hypnotic at times with songs like Sleep or Shrinkwrap, but sometimes there's some really beautiful vocal sections that last like 30 seconds max. It's a sound I kinda struggle with describing since it's so unique that I can only really say that you need to listen to it yourself to know what I'm talking about, it's such a frantic and anxiety inducing sound that I really fucking dig. I don't wanna make this comparison since Radiohead pisses me the fuck off BUT it's kinda hard to ignore once I noticed it. The vocals kinda sound like Thom Yorke and I think he might've taken influence from This Heat, I could be wrong but  I can't be the only one to hear it. The drummer is also really good, super tight playing from the dude and fits the songs nicely. Anyways I wanna yap about the concept a little more so I'm gonna do that now cos idk to how transistion to it cleanly since I suck balls at writing. A New Kind Of Water continues the trend of being scared of being nuked, talking about going from a to z all that shit and as it's building up to the final song, it just ends. No explosion (get it? AHAHAHHAHAHA), no coda, no NOTHING, it just straight up moves onto Suffer Bomb Disease and it's such an awesome way of showing what WW3 would be like. Realistically speaking if we got hit by a nuke we wouldn't even realize and it'd be the shortest World War. Anyways that song grew on me a lot, it's an accurate representation of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, there's wind blowing, a random mf groaning in pain, and another mf playing the same lick over and over on the harmonica, I fuck with the vibe HEAVY. The title is also pretty smart since I'm pretty sure that's what the japanese called radiation poisoning when they first got hit with a nuke. GOOD ALBUM, FUCK YOU, TS IS SO FRIGGING TUFF.
