Probably my first proper attempt at a blog entry. But I wanna talk about probably my favourite kind of weather. Rainy weather! Doesn't matter if it's misty, heavy or a little shower, I love it. I'm not joking I become a lot happier inside and out when it starts to rain. I always look forward to autumn and winter because we get more frequent rainy days! I find it to be so nice to wake up to it being a rainy day and going to bed when it's raining
The rain today came down so heavy out of nowhere and then calmed a little for a bit. We've had way too many ultra warm sunny days for my liking so having a day where it was cooler and there was rainfall had me feeling happy again. We had a good bit of rain today and it was sooooo nice. I had a shower which also helps cozy me up for a day of sitting in during rainy weather and drawing, playing video games, or right now- typing out this blog entry! Unfortunately, the rain has moved on and it's gotten sunny again, but it was nice while it lasted. It felt like meeting an old friend again after a while, a single text or forum conversation that didn't last long, but was nice when it did. I find myself feeling more comfy and able to focus (I guess I could say), when it's raining. I'm not trying to say this like I'm someone who's overly angsty and emo, (despite the fact I do dress in that 2000s emo style.) But I genuinely love the rain and weather that is considered "miserable". We haven't had any thunder and lightning in long while (and if we did overnight, I wouldn't have heard it because once I'm asleep I am out!) But that's another kind of weather that I absolutely love. I can take all the headaches and nosebleeds I may get before hand from the pressure the weather causes before hand, because I'll know that my favourite weather is on its way.
Obviously I mentioned earlier that I like to draw and all that while it's raining outside, but I do have specific activities that I feel make rainy days feel all the more special to me. Usually I like to clean my room when it's raining. When I know the day is gonna be nothing but rain for ages, I always put on old 1920s-30s swing music and clean my room. I know that's a bit shocking to hear since my music taste is primarily more heavy and loud. (ie. Green Day, Metallica, Koffin Kats, System Of A Down etc.) But I think it was Stanley Kubrick's The Shining film that did it for me in terms of why I like 20s/30s swing. I'm always brought back to the empty and haunted Overlook Hotel whenever I hear that style of music. Though, I do find myself not listening to music when it's raining and instead listening to the tapping or rainwater on my window or the pavement outside. It makes me feel so happy and free of any stress or negative feelings/thoughts I've been battling with. Seeing the dull clouds in the sky and knowing a rainstorm is on its way brings my mood up. It really does. I mean, I wouldn't be making this whole blog post if it didn't mean this much to me. I also love making some tea and playing Minecraft when it's raining. (When I'm in the mood for Minecraft of course, since it seems to come in phases sometimes.) For drawing, I don't have a set plan on what to draw. Usually it's my own characters I would sketch out, stuff like outfit ideas, world building ideas and all that. Sometimes I'd make some fan art of characters I like. But more often than not it's my own characters.
Overall this blog post was something I wanted to make where I could talk on and on about my favourite weather. Rainy days are nice. So are other "dull" or "miserable" kinds of weather. A little shout out to snow too! We don't get snow that often where I'm from, but we did get it back in very early January and got nearly an extra week of winter holidays! It was fun. I honestly feel like these types of weather are kinda overshadowed and hated on a lot more than they should be. Guys, not all of us can withstand the scorching hot sun. I'm practically like a vampire with how I burn very easily and overheat easily. (And also I'm practically paper white, call me Casper the ghost's cousin.) But aside from that. Next time there's a rainy day, (which I hope is soon enough), you know I'll be ready and waiting with a big smile on my face.
That's all for now, have a good day/evening/night, hope you enjoyed reading this blog as much as I did writing it!

Yeah I can definitely relate to this too, rainy days just have a certain aesthetic to them that is soothing but also warm and tranquil. I remember waking up to this massive rainstorm a few years back and outside my house was this massive pool of water surrounding it. That sounds scary as hell but I slept through the worst of afterwards it was a just light rain. I ended up spending the whole day working on a bunch of YTP's for my channel (they're really bad don't ask.) It's funny how basic stuff like weather patterns can turn an otherwise boring day into something memorable.
[exactly!! Rainy days just have that vibe that always fits whatever it is I'm doing. To be fair I get that feeling a lot of seeing parts of an area slightly flooded but it's not like something that would set off alarm bells in your head. No joke it was actually so stormy about 2 days ago in the early hours of the morning that it woke me up. But it didn't matter after that cuz then I knew the rest of the day was gonna be raining which I liked. Also don't worry about that, if you're having fun while making YTPs then that's all that matters. Hell, I write stories and a tiny bit of poetry and it's pretty cringy at times so I would be a hypocrite in saying anyone that makes anything has to be the best of the best. But I totally agree with you. Some of my almost core memories are also linked to incredibly rainy days and storms. I remember seeing a lightning storm happen outside during nighttime and it was genuinely one of the coolest things in the whole world to see]

I love the rain!! Here in the PNW, it’s rainy more often than not. Personally, however, I’d say my favorite weather is snow. Nothing better than waking up to the outside covered in a blizzard, and opening the window to cool air.
(Also, I think rainy weather is at its peak during the night! I absolutely adore falling asleep to rain.)
[I totally get that! Snow rarely comes by here and when it does it barely sticks (it's more sleet than actual snow) but I remember when we were hit with a massive blanket of it back in 2018 I believe? And it was so surreal but amazing to be waking up for those few days to seeing snow outside covering all the stone and grass. I love the cool air during the colder seasons. Also yessss, rain during the night just hits different, it's like a comforting white noise. It's like time has stood still when it's raining during the night. I love the vibe]

I can relate to this so much! I absolutely adore the rain, we've actually had a ton of rain where I live over this summer. I especially enjoy when its dark out while its raining (maybe around 9:30-11:30 at night) my family really likes bright sunny weather and likes rooms to be as lit up as possible, they've given me a ton of shit over my life for preferring dimly lit ambient lighting and always staying up as late as a possibly can, They say they don't understand why I like this "depressing" weather or lighting but I don't find it depressing I like the quite, cozy, empty feeling atmosphere it gives me a lot of comfort and feels like a place where my mind can rest. There is specific large window in our kitchen that directly faces out into the street and there sits one single street light at the end of our neighbors driveway in the near distance, I love to look out that way when its raining and listen to relaxed persona music such as beneath the mask. Looking out into the vacant street with the foggy dimly lit atmosphere while its pouring rain gives me so much comfort.
[yesss you get it!! I'm the same, my parents don't seem to understand why I'm not in the mood for ultra bright summer days but when it's dark and raining I'm happy as can be. I love dim ambient lighting so much. I actively avoid using the main ceiling light in my room because it gets too bright for me to handle after a little bit. I've got 2 bedside lamps on either side of my bed that I always flick on when it becomes dark and the glow they give off is easy on my eyes. I absolutely love that you have a window where you can sit and watch the rain!! That sounds like such a vibe I'm a tiny bit jealous ;0; . You're speaking facts with the foggy atmosphere, I should've mentioned that in my blog about it. Fog always add to rainy days and makes them so much better. Lucky you for getting so much rain over the summer btw, we were hit with heat waves left, right and center and it sucked ;0;. I was longing for the rain like a wife who's husband has gone out to sea LOLLZ]

I also mainly use a lamp for my bedroom lighting although its not a bedside lamp its one of those tall pole looking lamps, also earlier this year I bought some govee light bulbs and I can change the color and brightness of the lighting I got a 4 pack of them for like I think $30 one of the best purchases of my life because I now have full control over the ambience of my room.
here is the link if you wanna check em out

[ooohh cool!! My sister has a tall pole lamp too so I think I know what you're on about. Also that's not too bad of a price to get 4 bulbs that you can change the colour of. You can set the mood with any colour you like! Colour changing lights always look so nice no matter what they're used for. To be fair I always wanted a blacklight cuz everything looks so cool under a blacklight :D ]
