Misty's Alterhuman Journal: Entry #1

I awakened (finding out you are alterhuman) around October or November 2023, actually, that just might be the timeline of me questioning, researching, and then confirming that I am a part of the alterhuman community. I can't quite remember, but before that, I first questioned when I was in middle school. But then I was like "oh, I don't really think I am this." At the time, I couldn't find a lot of info on the community as well as others' experiences, and the info I did have didn't fit what I experienced. Then, in senior year, some therian videos popped back up on my fyp. And I realized that the feeling of being an animal/creature and more animal-like behaviors and the shifts (note I didn't know what they were called at the time), it all kinda came back. While researching, I started remembering and putting pieces together of things I did when I was little. I asked friends if they felt ears or fur. I also brought up thinking it was normal. I would see crows and think, "hey, I'm one of you". I made dens/nests. I thought of where I lived as my territory, which made me kinda stubborn or bossy with my neighborhood friends ┻ ﹏ ┻.  It was nice finally putting the pieces together and finding out there are others like me. Ran into misinfo along the way, but now I know better. I did accept it, but then there was a moment that was like "wow, it's gonna be difficult and people are not gonna like it." I ended up crying... don't judge me, the realization set in. Now I honestly don't care.

Fun fact, I was more surprised that I'm genderfluid than therian and otherkin. idk why lol
