pumpkin spice is a lie

When I was 4 years old, my preschool teacher cut open a pumpkin and made me and my classmates wait in line to scoop out the innards with out chubby unwashed hands. I thought it'd taste like pumpkin pie. I found out it tasted more like vomitted ham as i struggled to swallow the gooey stuff. Whenever I drink a pumpkin spice latte (which isnt very often) I want to retch because all I can think of is the taste of raw pumpkin. It makes me irrationally angry that pumpkin spice is how most people interpret pumpkins taste. I hope every 'pumpkin spice girlie' is forcefed raw pumpkin. Maybe I'm just still bitter about it.
