Mauritius 2025 <3

I haven't left yet, but I don't think that I will be taking any more pictures from this point. My flight home is the day after tomorrow and I am so looking forward to being back in my room again. I am going to mourn the presence of my boyfriend though :( . My family left to Mauritius leaving me behind because of work, so I had to get a flight on my own two weeks later. Boyfriend stayed over with me a couple days before my expected flight but they cancelled on me so we spent a few extra days together before he had to fly back to Canada during my Mauritius trip for university, leaving us long distance again. I like to think that we spent a very good two months together after almost a year of long distance, before we started dating we only had like a week and a half to get to know each other and only linked up 3 times (not including the day we met) so my friends thought we moved quite fast but it was a chance we had to take and I'm glad we did <3 things work out! In about a month and a day it'll be our one year anniversary. I know when I fly home I'm definitely going to realise the weight of him not being here and having to wait months to see him again.

Anyways, it's time I dump my Mauritius photos.

Most recent selfie! A lot of these is going to be in reverse time order I feel like. this was taken yesterday when one of my older cousins took us and his kids to a huuuuge arcade/gokarting place in a really nice mall. The arcade games I felt were quite limited to what I'm used to and could even access, but I had a lot more fun playing darts with my dad and uncle and cousins. After a few rounds we went for go-karting and I won second place! Just underneath my uncle, which I'm really proud of. I don't even drive yet but I felt like a professional the way I was drifting round those turns. The bread I'm holding was for a barbecue later that evening, but I ended up passing out at home and waking up in the middle of it. All I remember that the bread was really soft and buttery, so delicious.

Some really beautiful wild yellow birds we saw at a beach near the beginning of my trip. I really like the bold look of them, they're like the Mauritian equivalent of those random green parakeets in London.

Some more pictures from the same beach.

Oooh I think this is another beach that I really like but am unsure of the name. Super pretty. A little while after the sun set I saw wild bats flying through the trees.

At that same beach I met this stray dog and ooouuuuh I miss him badly. I got bored toward the end of my beach visit that day so I started to teach him how to play fetch. At first, he kept giving me this look as if to say "What are you doing," but then he got excited over the stick and would watch me throw it and go to where it thought it landed. It took a while for him to find the stick every time and occasionally I would walk up to it myself and point but eventually he got the hang of it on his own and was always so excited to continue playing. I actually saw him again today! We didn't play though, he just lingered around for a bit until I went to swim.

I wore this blouse after swimming and I think it's really lovely. I thrifted it at Fashion Bazaar in Flacq and it's adorable.

My uncles took us to see some private property on a huge ass mountain and there they collected a lot of coconuts. I myself gained a few mosquito bites...

Another mountain viewww. It was beautifully just by the sea. The climb was a bit of work an this isn't even me at the top. My uncle was saying I should but a lot more footwork into it because I'm always using the treadmill at home.

Cousin took us to a restaurant after we went thrifting and I managed to get up quite close to this gorgeous bird! I'm not aware what type of bird is it yet but I think it's very quaint looking, like a very fine and delicate wood carving.

The food we ate at the restaurant. Sooo delicious. I loved it <3

One of my wedding outfits! I forgot to mention that the main point of our visit here was to attend a cousins wedding and it was a first time experience for me. I didn't realise that it would be a long event and this was taken after day three. I loved my dresses and on the second day I got my makeup professionally done. I felt so awkward with a full face and apart from the uncomfortably thick eyebrows, I thought I looked really cute.

This was my outfit the day before, very very pretty.

And the makeup!

The henna design I got! I love this style sm <3

And that's it for now. There's not much else that I'd like to add and I am quite sleepy. Thankyou for staying if you've made it this far <3
