Sleeping update

As of resent, my sleep has been improving!

I have been going to bed on time and waking up at around 1 to 3 AM. Its better then how it was before with me staying up tell 5 AM and waking up at 12 PM. I just need to get myself to wake up at 8AM, how ever I do have insomnia so staying in bed once I wake up is hard.

Anybody have tips on staying asleep or going back to sleep once woken up?

I just got here from your other blog post about sleeping, lol. Glad to see things have been improving!!

So I've struggled with sleep my entire life, and here's a few things I've learned throughout all the trial and error.

First, don't stress about not sleeping. It's super hard to do, but trust me when I say that your body will get sleep when it needs it. Go to bed at your desired time, yes, but don't worry if you don't fall asleep right away. The time you spend laying in bed and resting your body will still be really beneficial! Eventually, your body should start to adjust, and things will get a lot easier. Some anecdotal evidence suggests that using supplements like L-theanine and magnesium can help with relaxation and sleep, and I've had OK results with them, so you could try that.

Second, try to wake up immediately when your alarm goes off. Hitting snooze will make you much groggier. Don't try to use energy drinks to wake up in the morning, either! Caffeine can really mess up your sleep even if you use it early in the morning. Try to wake up without screens if possible--like, maybe read a little out of a poetry or motivational book or something. A cute little morning routine to look forward to really helps me get out of bed sometimes.

Personally, if I'm trying and really just cannot sleep for whatever reason, I'll get out of bed and read until I feel tired again. This helps me not correlate my bed with sleeplessness. Hope some of this helps, and I really feel you. Good luck!!
