Now that the two gigs are out of the way, I can go back to being a hermit :)
Seriously folks, the gigs went incredibly well overall, but the vibes were polar opposite. Which is okay, really. Not everything is going to be the same every time.
Friday's gig with Supernova was OFF THE CHARTS!! Black River Barn was packed, wall to wall, energy level was insane!! Felt like we played for 20 minutes, that's how fast things went. Everyone singing along, dancing up a storm, and yes alcohol had something to do with those LOL! Played the usual tunes, added a couple of new ones including "Mama I'm Coming Home" by Ozzy. And even THAT song got people singing at the top of their lungs! Pretty wild for sure.
Saturday's show with Vinyl Renegades was vastly different as far as energy level with the crowd. More sedate, polite clapping, and eventually some dancing happened. But the band sounded really good, everyone are good players and singers. The drummer Bob impressed me, as he was rock solid and in the pocket. Even though bass players will say this, as a guitarist if the drummer isn't grooving, I can't feel it. But I felt it for sure! Got to do the same songs as other bands but new ones from Joe Cocker, Blondie, Nancy Sinatra (!) and even tossed in some Skynyrd that wasn't "Free Bird"!
Overall, I had a great time with both bands and more show manifest. But...
I'm still not done being a creative original artist. No sir!! I have 10 new demos waiting to be turned into real songs but only when the time is right. Once I amass a good amount of money, I can find musicians that hopefully want to play with me. That will take a bit more elbow grease though. In time...
For now, I am basking in the glory of feeling like a real musician.
