My opinions of Picnic by Shunji Iwai

I just watched the movie Picnic today and for me this is my second favorite movie directed by Shunji Iwai, before watching I thought that this was going to be about how mental asylum patients are treated horribly but this movie exceeds my expectations by a mile. This movie makes the main characters, Coco and Tsumuji and Satoru be seen as human beings instead of just "crazy people" by making the characters have real life trauma that made them into the person they are today, I wont spoil to much but multiple times in the movie a human puppet who was Tsumuji's teacher, appears as a hallucination and Tsumuji's teacher only in 3 scenes it shows how the teacher had changed Tsumuji's life in the worst way possible. In conclusion I think that the theme of the movie is live every day like it's your last and I highly recommend you watch this movie because of it's amazing story and cinematography and have a good night!
