the lack of beauty within the modern world

i have written about this topic before on my previous account, but i thought i'd go over it again in more detail.

as most people can see, modernity and modern art is ugly. most buildings are grey, lacking detail and splendor, and art lacks the requirements to even be considered art. this is no secret to most, except to the idiots who assume the lack of beauty in modern art comes from how sophisticated it is, and that they only don't see beauty in it because they are unsophisticated, so then they pretend they understand it to seem cultured. the truth is that the majority of people who claim they understand modern art are lying. modern art has little to no value. pretty much everyone knows this, but not as many have any explanation as to why.

i have a few explanations as to why modern art and modernity in general lacks beauty. the first comes from society's lack of spiritual guidance. in the past, societies have had a general idea of what is beautiful, because they believed beauty is objective, rather than subjective. the belief in objective beauty gives people direct guidance as to what art should look like. today's society lacks this guidance, because the idea of objective beauty has been thrown out along with religion. so now people can make whatever they want, call it art, and it has equal value to any other form of art, since there's no way of calling some art better than another, since any attempt to do so is just a matter of opinion. the problem with this way of thinking is that we still instinctively know when something is beautiful or ugly, but because of the lack of objectivity within society, we can't call out ugly art as ugly, because the terms ugly and beautiful are essentially meaningless arbitrary terms that lack connection to reality. so now we are forced to live with ugliness in the world, in art, architecture, people, music, norms, relationships etc. while the truth is that beauty is objective. there are rules you must follow to make something beautiful. some art is just blatantly ugly.  people don't like to admit this, as strict social rules regarding what defines the objective is associated with social conservatism or "the authoritarian personality".

secondly, modernity is not defined by anything. what we see a lot of the time in modern art is how it defines itself negatively, meaning it is defined as a rejection of something, rather than anything itself. for example duchamp's fountain was not created to look beautiful, but instead to challenge the concept of traditional art. we see this mentality a lot today. art being created to defy expectations rather than look good. this mentality is destroying beauty. the only reason people see any value in art such as fountain is because it gained popularity through its ability to shock, not to look good.

overall, moderity lacks beauty because of humanity's disregard for nature, spirituality and objectivity. our obsession with efficiency, progress and technology has killed any connection we once had to those things. i don't think the situation is hopeless, as many people have started to realise the problem and crave a solution. the solution being a return to a traditional society, with values and traditions that go beyond the emptiness of modern life.

Modern art in a nutshell: "wow I'm so depressed imma express this by making this very bland design thing with some basic color palette"
Lwk tho, it's not ridiculous what u say.Uniqueness, creativy and some other things that make us human (even socialization, lowkey) start to lose their "colors/flavour".Most things nowadays seem just incredibly bland and soulless
