Social media cleanse

So, while doom scrolling TikTok I saw one that talked about the effects of doom scrolling on the brain. I guess that was my breaking point because I knew it had become an issue and I guess it really got me to lock in.

Anyways I decided to delete most socials and just clean my phone. Space hey is one of the few that I’m keeping since I enjoy the reading aspect and stuff, its much more slower paced than the other social medias.

Im curious to see where this goes, I cant wait to be more productive, but im a bit scared lolol because Ive been glued to my phone for my whole life.

congrats on this new step!! i should really consider following in suit of this .. i havent had tiktok in 3 or so years , but these days insta reels feel just as bad - it would be nice to have something as easy to consume as spacehey as my main form of online social interaction

Good luck! If you can find out how to make it work for you, it's a great feeling, you feel so much more free! A tip I like to give is that you still need a "turn your brain off" activity, just a better one than scrolling. For instance, I replaced social media time with walking, biking, drawing, or even just sitting and listening to music or watching the local weather channel!
