The Medal of Saint Benedict is a very special sacramental in the Catholic Church. On it are engraved prayers and symbols that remind us of the struggle against evil and the protection that God grants through the intercession of Saint Benedict, father of monks. When worn with faith, it is not an amulet, but a constant reminder to live in grace, reject sin, and trust in Christ.
Prayer:
Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux (May the holy Cross be my light)
Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux (Let not the dragon be my guide)
Vade Retro Satana! (Begone, Satan!)
Numquam Suade Mihi Vana (Never tempt me with your vanities)
Sunt Mala Quae Libas (What you offer me is evil)
Ipse Venena Bibas (Drink the poison yourself)
In nomine Patris, et Filli, et spiritus Sancti.
Amen.
