My Top 3 Wrestlers

sup! I figured i'd do a top 3 of my favorite wrestlers of alltime because my brain wont shut up about wrestling lately.

3. Kenny Omega

The Cleaner

i first got into wrestling when i was 7. i stuck with it until 7th grade when it was considered "not cool anymore" and slowly drifted away from it. a few years later during the pandemic, i found myself pulled back in and Kenny Omega was the reason why.

i stumbled across his storyline with Kota Ibushi and was immediately hooked again. The Golden Lovers saga wasnt just wrestling... it was a story that felt real. two best friend torn apart and brought back together again, you couldnt really tell what was kayfabe and what was real genuine love. the way kenny moves is literal art. he can slip into any role and make it work. plus he's also a huge nerd, throwing anime and video game references into his ring gear and entrances. he even had a move that was a literal hadouken!

one of his greatest matches is probably against Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11. there's also a great super eyepatch wolf video that has a great breakdown of the golden lovers story if you wanna check it out:

Professional Wrestling is Stupid and Beautiful and I Love it

2. AJ Styles

The Phenomenal One

there's a reason why he has that name. he's just that consistent. he doesnt need a wild entrance or some cool catchphrase to get over, he lets his ringwork do the talking.

aj made it to the WWE the hard way. he worked his ass off in TNA, carrying the company on his back for years, went to japan, and made it into the WWE, all on his own terms. no shortcuts, just pure hardwork and love for his craft.

his moveset is so sick too, its a unique blend of flashy and grounded that feels completely his. everytime he's in that ring, you know you're watching someone who can do it all. you gotta check out his triple threat match against Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels

1. CM Punk

The Best in the World

and last but not least is CM Punk, my favorite wrestler ever. he was the guy who started the fire in me, he made it all feel so real.

he started off in the indies, picking up traction in ROH. he couldnt be ignored, i mean he literally got signed to wwe while he was still the ROH champ. his feuds with Samoa Joe and Raven were iconic and really showed off his mic skills.

then he makes it to the WWE, the biggest wrestling company in the world, and he was still punk. those first few years literally had him fighting for the respect he deserved and he took every oppurtunity to show what he can do.

his entrance themes were also legendary, from Miseria Cantare to Cult of Personality. my personal fav is This Fire Burns. it just feels so much like CM Punk. he was determined to prove himself and he did, because the fire inside him burned brighter than the flames of pressure around him.

his moveset is awesome too, from his old pepsi twist and shining wizards to his anaconda vise and GTS. it all looks so real.

then theres his straight edge philosophy. it wasnt a gimmick, it was an actual way of life to him and having someone i could look up to who didnt need booze or weed to keep him going  stuck with me. to this day im straight edge. no drugs or alcohol, just facing shit head on.

what makes him so great to me was that you didnt need to play the part that they want. you could make your own. and if you were loud enough, stubborn enough, and great enough, they'd have no choice but to listen.

a great example of this was the legendary 2011 money in the bank match against John Cena where he just walks out with the WWE Championship as soon as his contract expires.

"All I've ever wanted was destiny to be fulfilled

It is in my hands, I must not fail, I must not fail

Even through the darkest days

This fire burns, always"
