Flash Light Tag

I was counting near the house as everyone ran to hide in the woods. As I was counting down I tried to listen to where the footsteps went so I could go in that direction. When I started looking around I came upon a tree on the right side of the property. Behind the tree was my cousin and my younger brother, I could make out the details of their silhouettes so I started walking towards their direction, pretending to be another hider like them.

As I got closer, my cousin made a run for it, I bolted after him and turned on my flashlight to say his name and as I did so, I realized my feet were the only ones crunching the fall leaves. The light flashed on my cousin, and he disappeared.*

I know I usually post my dreams, but this experience was too crazy not to post on here. This happened during the summer of 2019 if I remember correctly. No, it wasn't a ghost. For those of you who don't know, (like all of you because I'm new on here) I grew up seeing shadow people. I'm not talking about the ones people see in the corner of a room or during a sleep paralysis dream. Moving, running, accessorized shadow people. Shadow people that change their look every time, they never looked the same. They could even imitate my friends and family.

I was out in the middle of no where Dripping Springs, Texas. My uncle had property that we would visit, and almost every weekend me and my cousins would play "flash light tag." it had to be after sunset when everything was dark and you could only see two feet ahead of you. The person who was "it" had the flash light, and in order to tag someone they had to shine the light on them and say their name. The rest of us ran, tiptoed and crawled in the wooded property. I was never it...I want to make that very clear. I made sure nobody could ever find me, because imagine being prone to seeing shadow people in dark environments. If I'm purposely looking for people running in the dark, my brain will naturally conjure up someone who may not even exist. And I can't tell the difference.

This was one of the last sightings I had of shadow people, I still haven't seen one to this day and I still refuse to play anything in the dark.
