I honestly really get annoyed that people on the internet misuse the terms introvert and extrovert

i took a psychology class and still have my psychology books that I saved if I  ever wanted to dwell in the rabbit hole. As I learn more about it,  I'm honestly very baffled in the sense that people are really abusing the terms of introvert and extrovert as way to label themselves to make them feel special in their echo chambers. These terms were used to be considered as observations  to explain human behavior, these terms weren't invented to be utilized for the internet to spread their misinformation. I believe  people should not base their entire personality online by just one single psychological observation, that just too binary. People are beyond such psychological labels but apparently we let too many stupid people to abuse these terms. I have never labeled myself either or, because I can be either or; there is nothing special about it since that is how humans behave. We can be  quiet or loud whenever we want, but people these days  feel the obligation that if that people should be  only one or the other and live by it. This also is the issues with tribalism, these tactics that you are innocent and they are the enemy is as old as when humans first existed and its been eating us alive ever since.

Agree. I also don't like that "introversion = shy; extroversion = socialite". Not all introverts are stuck in a corner hating all humans and not all extroverts are outgoing assholes (all being common hatred I see to each "side") Also, I agree with your take on labels and believe it applies to other areas besides introversion/extroversion.

When observing it, it’s more so that to add on bit of our points is that , like with all terms in psychology or any field of study , people aren’t willing to educate themselves what these terms are but are willing to make themselves believe they’re “experts” in that field even though they haven’t even once gone through and fully understand the concepts, which can be argued that is the main role of the rise of anti-intellectualism that a lot of people have lost trust in actual experts and more so trust people online that don’t even know if that person is actually an “expert” to begin with , but gets pushed up by the oppressive algorithm. like , I am no expert in psychology even though I took a class, but I’m not gonna parade myself on the internet that people should trust my word

I guess I can see where you are coming from, just be acquainted in who you’re talking to and how can you navigate while interacting
