Three Radikal Rekerds #34: Fratricidal Flowers Forlorn in the Fog

Ogbert the Nerd, I Don't Hate You
Genre: Emo
Standout track: Buddies Lite Lime
Think "real emo" in the vein of Texas Is The Reason or Orchid, rather than "scene emo" that might more immediately spring to mind, not that I particularly have a problem with the latter (it's the internet's terminology, sorry folks!) It personally reminds me of At The Drive-In, with their crystalline-yet-organic guitarmanship, it's overwrought vocal delivery and penchant for weird referential song titles acting as thin veneer for deeper red-eyed meaning.

Hante., This Fog That Never Ends
Genre: Synth Pop/Coldwave
Standout track: My Destruction
An absolute must-listen for fans of Xeno & Oaklander, Double Echo, Molchat Doma and Ladytron. Hante. is the stagename of Parisian producer Hélène de Thoury, and this a perfect album for anyone whose in the mood for mental enervation, but can't stomach the prospect of anything saccharine or sickly-sweet.

Bouquet / Mental Mutilation split
Genre: Goregrind
Standout track: Mental Mutilation - Inspecting the Entrails for Maggots Before Consumption
Brief but utterly barbaric split release between bonkers Arizona-based flower-themed grindcore project Bouquet, and the Manitoban gore metal outfit Mental Mutilation. The latter band especially have some of the most bowel-churning guttural vocals I've heard in a while!
