A flock Of Seagulls - A Flock Of Seagulls (1982): An Album Review (or something like that)

Hello everybody!! I wanted to do something a little different this time and decided to write here a little review to an album I recently got the digital download added to my digital music colection. I first heard of this album a long while ago thanks to the song "I Ran (So Far Away)" (now playing in the background) appearing on Regular Show, and it became one of my favorite all time songs from the 80's!

Just so you know, I'm, like, by all means, not a profesional music whatever i just really like listening to music and ocasionally singing in the shower, this is for funsies lmao (also, I make a lot of stupid typos sorry lolz oopsies)

A little bit about the album: A Flock Of Seagulls is the debut album of the english band A Flock Of Seagulls, a new-wave band, released in april 1982 by Jive Records. It has a total of 11 tracks (10 for the american release, as far as I'm aware) which I'll talk about in this blog!! Also, If you didn't notice, I used the album cover as the background of this blog so you can see it while reading!

The album first opens with the track "Modern Love Is Automatic", at first I wasn't sure if I would've like this track but I actually ended up loving it in the end, and specially loved the transition it has to the next track titled "Messages". I really liked the vocals of this specific track

"Messages" is the second track of the album and, honestly, I love this one a lot, I specially like the drums, idk but they scratch my brain nicely, and the chorus does the same thing

"I Ran (So Far Away)" is the third track in this album, overall I must point out how cool to me are the transitions between songs, they are sooo smooth! About this track, UGH are you not listening to it in the background??? Its just so adicting to me! and that solo with the synth and all its my favorite part!! Its one of my favorite songs indeed, never getting tired of it...

The fourth track of this album is "Space Age Love Song", the transition this one had is one of my favorites on this album. I LOVE this track as well!! Its such a feel good to me! I can't stop myself from dancing to it

Fifth track is "You Can Run", I must admit that at first the intro to this track scared the shit out of me HAHAHSD, I really like the chorus of this song, really catchy, also really like the fast-paced feel it got, very dancing-worthy for me!

"Telecommunication", the sixth track of this album, its intro reminded me a little to that one sfx sound that was used in earlier Dragon Ball Z stuff in "desolated" areas, like whenever the city was destroyed and all that, It got that little nostalgic feel to me, feels good for a house party night

"Standing In The Doorway", we are now at track number 7! This one feels really hipnotizing to me, I really love this track and Its also one of my favorites for this album, I love the change in tone it had and the guitar sounds so good!

I really like the vocals in the track number 8 "Don't Ask Me", I don't have that much to say about this specific track, I think its my least favorite of this album, still REALLY good tho!

The track "D.N.A.", number 9, I specifically really enjoy the instrumentals, I also can't stop myself from dancing to this everytime I hear it!! I always appreciate instrumental-only tracks, idk, I think they're super cool

I love the intro and the vocals of "Tokyo", track number 10!! The chorus is such a feel-good to me, I would play this if I were a bus driver

"Man Made", last track on this album, I personally really like this one , I really like the specific synth they used here and the calmness I get whenever I listen to it, feels like watching a beautiful sunset to me, specially that ending...

AAAAND overall this album is part of my unsurprisignly long favorite albums list!! (Which I should maybe post some day...), this album is really dear to me and I want to see YOUR opinions!! SO I incurage anyone reading this to listen to it If you haven't and to comment what is your opinion on it!! This was fun to write, maybe I'll do this more often... or not?? idk lol anyways byeee thank you for reading!!
