De-Googling

For those unaware, I am very anti-censorship, pro-privacy, and anti-AI—and if you are on an anonymous website like this one, I would hope you value all these things, as well. As such, I am very angry at YouTube and Google's new AI self-identification policies. It isn't about "protecting the kids". That's what they all say every time they want to sweep out some new law/rule that breaches people's privacy. Don't let them fool you.

I have been participating in a complete YouTube boycott since August 13th. I archived a bunch of content and haven't looked back since. In this time, I have found myself to be far more productive than before. I've been reading more, writing more (er... well, not writing more, but coming up with more ideas), blogging more, and dabbling into old hobbies—namely swimming and rollerblading. Maybe soon I will pick up a new hobby/interest? All this being said, I hope someone will create a good YouTube alternative soon. I miss seeing comments on videos and interacting with people. 

Today, I have purchased a Proton subscription and started changing the email on my accounts. I cannot stand Google's blatant breaches of privacy anymore. I will continue to search for Google alternatives. I hope everyone who follows me will do the same, for the sake of your own privacy.

If you have never read George Orwell's 1984, I suggest you do so. I think it is very important in this day and age. Never give YouTube or Google or anyone else your ID/passport/credit card!
