I love root beer and I've tried a decent few, ibc, freddie's, frostop, fitz's, 1919
my favorite is fitz's root beer from st louis. I don't know what is it, it's just so perfectly balanced, it doesn't have a strong bite but it's not underwhelming. no abrasive taste all in ur face. just smooth and delicious. it's what I imagine a old fashioned root beer to taste like.
my least favorite would be a&w, I never tasted a root beer so bad before, it's so repulsive, I know its got some cool history, some consider it a legendary root beer, from it's restaurant that opened up in 1919, it's got a big reputation which Is why I really want it to taste good but it doesn't, it really doesn't. I tried one some months ago with hopes it wasn't gonna be as bad as my kid self made it out to be, but when I drinked it all the bad memories came back into my head of only having this nasty root beer to drink and having headaches, it didn't even taste like root beer and I felt off drinking it, like it wasn't supposed to be consumed. it tasted like liquefied bark wood with tree sap. I hate that drink with every bone in my body. maybe it used to taste good I mean it had to get it's reputation somehow.
