Something terrifying is happening to me

I walked outside to go on a walk. That's where I spotted the purple light. It was beautiful, yet so frightening. It was the one He warned me about. Yet, I felt myself being drawn to it. Eventually, my body and my soul weren't mine anymore, I was being controlled. I'm not quite sure what was controlling me, but it wanted me to follow the path down to the purple light, so I did. And on the way there, it talked to me about God. It asked me if I believed in him, and I said I do. It began to tell me about how God is the ultimate form of life and how, as long as I believe in God, I shouldn't fear anything because the power of Christ will protect me. But I'm scared. Why would the voice tell me to follow the light and then contradict itself by telling me to run away? What are the odds that when I walk up to the house, there just so happens to be something waiting for me there? It's almost like I knew. Or maybe it wasn't me.
