Woahh...
Video Games. Who doesn't love them? I do. I play Video Games™. Here are some of the Video Games™ I've played recently!
1 - MEGA MAN X

I absolutely love Mega Man! Both the games I've played and finished and the ones I am still yet to complete, I adore this series with all of my heart; especially the X series.
Gameplay-wise, I believe this to be the perfection of the Mega Man formula; the level designs and bosses are such a thrill to learn and master, with rewarding abilities and secrets hidden around some stages. That may be, ultimately, the core of all Mega Man platformers, but Mega Man X, in my opinion, does it the best.
Visually, the game has some great pixel-art, as well as character designs. Zero is one of my favorite Video Game™ characters of all time.
The soundtrack, though? I LOVE THIS GAME'S SOUNDTRACK. Everything from the title screen to the stage select to the boss and level themes is beautiful.
It legit cannot be stated enough how much I love this game and this franchise. If you haven't played them and you love platformers, I'd say go do that as soon as you can.
2 - DONKEY KONG COUNTRY

Believe it or not, I actually didn't really care for this game when I first tried it. I mean, yeah, it's a solid 2D platformer from the Super Nintendo era, but I didn't give it a fair shot... UNTIL NOW.
After playing it, I can confidently say that Donkey Kong Country is pretty great!
The game has smooth physics with satisfying gameplay, and for a SNES game, the graphics actually hold up pretty well? I imagine it still looks quite good on an original CRT!
I couldn't possibly forget the sound design in this game. As goofy as they may be, I genuinely love them. They perfectly capture the vibe of the game, in my opinion. Add that with the stellar soundtrack, and you've got yourself one of the best experiences on the Super Nintendo.
I'll have to try out the other two eventually!
3 - GUILTY GEAR: STRIVE

Alright. So, this one probably doesn't count as much as the other two, considering most of my time spent playing is practicing in the Mission Mode, but I'll say what I can about my thoughts on it so far:
This game is cool. Like, really cool. As someone who has always gotten their ass kicked in... every fighting game they've ever played, learning the mechanics of a game, for me at least, has NEVER been this fun.
I've always had interest in this game, even though I've never been huge into this genre. The graphics are amazing, character designs are GREAT (shoutout to Sol Badguy (dude in the gif), and the delicious cherry on top being the absolutely killer soundtrack.
I don't know, I'll have to play a LOT MORE of the actual game to form a complete opinion on it, but this is an experience I am definitely willing to take the time to master.
FIN
Thank you for coming to my yap session (if anyone is here)! I'll be making more blog posts from now on about music, gaming, and other topics of interests. Hopefully the upcoming school year doesn't kill me though. :D
