I know that MCR isn't emo but MCR had changed the Emo scene so much to the point that you can't help it but call it emo. even if Gerard Way didn't intend to do it, but he changed the EMO scene SO MUCH.
Emos can literally see something and get influenced by it and call it emo like Invader Zim for example, its a TV show and NOT EMO but EMOS Grabbed it and was like "This is Emo Now" and nobody had a problem with it until MCR came along.
MCR is emo whether you like it or not.

their music isn't emo, but they were heavily ingrained into the subculture
of course! but they are still emo regardless. Not in music wise, i mean, there is a lot of Emo music that is inspired by them but MCR is more emo culturally than Music wise since MCR unintentionally chanced a lot of the scene
