feeling optimistic

sometimes people think of themselves as ugly 

and people will rush to tell them that they are beautiful

but maybe that's not the point

my favorite pair of shoes are covered in dirt

my favorite pair of pants has a marker stain on the front

my favorite pair of shorts have a hole that's a bit too wide

but i wear them anyways

because they've been reliable

because they're made of something good

even if they're imperfect
