As me and my high school friends have graduated, I've felt gutted since they all left (or will leave soon) to foreign countries for uni, and so will I in September :(
I'm feeling emotional after a meet-up with my friend who is leaving for
Japan this week to get a Bachelor's of psych, so now its just me left in
the city where we all used to attend school. 1 went to pakistan, 2 to japan, 1 to australia (?), and now just me left in jakarta waiting to go to kl 🥲
I've never had trouble making new friends and distancing from old ones, but this time feels solemn and definite. I was genuinely happy with my high school friend group since we are all international-minded and tolerant of different backgrounds since it was an international school. Now I feel like I'm losing the peace and love I prayed for as a (w)asian muslim in a small-minded suburb.
I hope I don't sound too much like a downer. Acceptance into law school has been a blessing for me and I don't ignore that. At the same time, I can't help but feel down right now 😭 My high school experience has had its highs and lows and BOY am I glad I ended it riding the highest high with friends IRL despite us going our separate ways.
*Let me know if you guys are into this style of blogging! I'm unsure if blogging is popular on SpaceHey presently, but I enjoy it so I hope you all do too (*゜ー゜*)

Always love reading blogs, I haven’t done one in a while myself lol.
I know change is definitely hard and I can’t imagine being in a position knowing that all of ur once close friends will now be far apart all across the world. But think of it this way, this is a chance for a fresh start. New opportunities, new friends, u get the whole deal lol. And yknow u can still keep in touch with everyone even though it probably won’t be the same.
I have two friends in the UK, we were all schoolmates while I was temporarily studying there for a year. Haven’t seen either of them since 2022! But I’m hoping to visit later this year if I can and I’m trying my best to get a scholarship of some sort so I could continue my studies there once secondary school ends for me this year.
I hope u enjoy KL or really just Malaysia in general. Lots of great stuff here once u get around. Food’s really good here too lol. Overall I just hope everything works out for u<3

️ my siblings that’re way older than me literally constantly remind me that it’s inevitable WHICH DOESN’T HELP???? but I dunno. I honestly think reaching out whenever you can with one another will help!! even if maybe it’s small comments here and there on their social media posts. it’s honestly the worst when you think they don’t want to hear from you or something, because chances are THEY DO!!! I hope you and your friends are all able to stay connected despite the distance :)
I have this fear too, that my friends and I are all going to split once we graduate and go our separate ways and slowly start to detach from one other
tysm, glad to know u like it!!
and best wishes to you as well with keeping in touch with friends 💗💝
im the oldest sibling so i dont have quite the same experience but my mom says that to me as well and I'm just like "BUT MY BESTIES :((("
connecting through social media is sound advice thanks! and probably how our friendships will thrive while we're long distance, hopefully they post often
