well ive became aware of the concept just this year bc i have A life!!!!!!!! so i may not fully know what im talking abt but i do find it a pretty interesting divide in fan culture. also i had no idea what category this fits
i still dont understand what darkshipping is like is it just when u ship dark things .... people told me im a proshipper based on my opinions which was kinda funny it's like a personality quiz LMFAO but i really dont understand fandom spaces anymore given i dont use any other social media. in my mind people should just write and create or emjoy whatever they want theyre just gonna deal with the consequences of people who hate their ideas finding it, but its very odd to me to tell people they cant write or create what they wanna create if it doesnt harm anyone!! so does that make me an evil proshipper idk like unfo i have fucked up interests and love writing and consuming stories abt "toxic" or straight up morally evil people that ruin each other lives but does the media i enjoy decide my actual morals or feelings about real life people? i dont think so!?! things that happened in my life made me relate or want to explore more uncomfortable topics so i gravitate towards things that make me feel understood in a sense and its easier to do it in fiction. so i dont really understand the policing of other peoples media consumption as long as therye adults... i can hate stuff but i still dont think its fair to say whats morally right or wrong to think about or create!! i just find it so interesting how much people care abt this stuff i suppose to the point of avoiding each other online based on those labels!! as someone who wants to publish my ideas one day in some shape or form i wonder if itll deem me immoral.
but thats also more of my own personal worries about my identity and overall the art i create leaking into this thought
i am curious though what people who dont like this type of media think !
