Find a hobby that can get you moving physically! I know that in school, my brain can be kind of overworked, and so doing a hobby that requires just brainpower isn't super restful or appealing after a long day of studying. For instance, I started up Jiu Jitsu about a year ago and it's my favorite part of every day because I get to interact with others, work my brain in a new way, and get my body moving and feeling good. But this could be anything--dance, martial arts, running, walking, weightlifting, calisthenics, pilates, yoga, etc.
the people are right it's about the small stuff. heres some stuff that i did that make my life a bit more entertaining as a university student myself
- i started going to a new cafe to read/study. i think reading new books helps a lot because if im not studying ill just catch up on whatever im reading - im not the most sociable person on the planet but dropping by to see what clubs your school has to offer does help. im an artist so ive been to a few of the meetings for the digital art club and ive met two really awesome people - learning new recipes so that your typical meal routines dont get stale - started watching more movies, listening to different artists, etc. anything to broaden my horizons creatively - maybe learn to get good at a random thing. i've been trying to get good at sexaginta qitordle (64 wordle) and scrabble because my friends play it. find a niche you enjoy!! anything that kinda challenges your brain's nice
More people should totally look more into doing small little things, it brings a certain excitement and joy to my life even when I feel like I’m gradually descending into eternal boredom, like I’m another human feeling like they’re losing their sense of self thus leading into this false delusion that “Life isn’t worth living.” You only feel that way because you haven’t stepped out of your comfort zone to explore new things and meet new people. Yeah it’s true we’ll all die eventually but that’s not stopping you from discovering a new passion that you never even knew you had, us as humans are very curious creatures that have infinite wants and needs and what other way is there to fulfill those desires by not branching out to things you’ve never seen before.
So maybe go on a walk, visit that ice cream parlor you keep walking by! Go to the library, try and dedicate your time into mastering a new skill you found so intriguing. Immerse yourself deeply into the lore in that new game you just CANNOT put down. Yknow just like… LIVE YA LIFE!!!! UNTIL YOU DIE!!!
might sound a bit silly but what i started doing was romanticizing life and small things you might otherwise take for granted 🫶 taking walks and taking pictures of any cool plants / creatures you see ,, giving yourself a little treat ( like a drink or snack from a fave coffee shop or pastry shop , or taking yourself shopping to buy something that makes you happy ) ,, taking up old hobbies or trying something new .. etc etc !! little things seem much more fun and fulfilling once you learn to appreciate them 🦭💛 taking time for yourself and doing stuff that brings YOU joy is so important !!
That sounds really sweet. I think I stopped doing those kinds of things because I always felt guilty for not studying enough, like I didn’t deserve free time. But I’ll try to spend more time on myself. Thanks ♡
less inside time more outside time less alone time more by myself time less think time more play time less screen time more paper time this fixed a lot of my mental health habits that caused problems
I was in that same situation a few years ago. Put yourself into uncomfortable positions what I mean is do things you wouldn't normally do. Go to some local events and just experience the atmosphere. Try going to a local bar there's always conversation at the bar and people to meet. What it boils down to is leaving comfort for happiness.
I see what you mean. I’m definitely afraid of those kinds of social situations, I always feel like some random awkward person. But I’ll try anyway. Thanks for the advice.
Id say try to do something new you havent or rarely do everyday. Go to a new cafe or take a walk. Sometimes i sit in the park by myself watching shows and eating snacks. its really abt the small things :)

I get it, that makes sense. Maybe I should work on that.

This is really helpful. Sometimes my mind goes 100x speed and I don’t appreciate those little moments.
