why? because they're using ai stuffies and wanting to steal our data blah blah blah. you might know that already lmao
but you might be thinking.. where else should you watch videos???

BTW! I am NOT forcing ANYBODY to use these websites, YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE THESE WEBSITES! I understand you may have your favorite youtubers on yt that wont move onto these websites! you do not need to leave them for another platform, its okay! I'll respect your opinion on staying with yt. I simply just want to provide some websites for others to use.

I hate alot of parts of youtube now, but I dont have the heart to part with it. Instead what ive been doing is trying to use ad blockers and only watching videos i REEEAAALLLLLY want to watch :) ive been treating youtube like TV

i dont think archive.org is a yt alternative its just a way to watch old stuff and even then i doubt your gonna wanna use the built in video player
it may be fun once in a while but unless your viewmaxxing or archiving they aint gonna last you long
also whats newgrounds doing there? get it outta there!

thanks for the info!! i've been using Grayjay (free version) for a wile now, it's a app where u can download plugins for different video websites, including youtube. basically, it lets you access youtube videos without actually being in youtube xD
though i dont know how it works when it comes to leaving comments and such.

Poor moderation, Can't even block a creator that you don't like and it doesn't work that way. This is why I would probably leave YouTube.

I likely won't be leaving YouTube anytime soon, as all of my favorite creators are likely never moving an inch from that site. The only way I'd consider moving if there was some random person stealing and reuploading every single video said creators upload onto said alternate site.
Then again the age verification thing is a very US centered thing and I'm not in the states so the thing hasn't affected me. I'll probably have to legitmately move if it does reach my country but it's not now lmao.
It's a bit funny that people were doing this whole alternatives thing when COPPA came around back in late 2019 and this same thing is happening now. Especially the whole "it's the end of youtube" thing.

thought id say invidious (yewtu.be) and grayjay are also great alternatives and i have been using both for awhile and highly recommend theyre on this list. grayjay is probably the closest thing to youtube anyone here will get, invidious is for the web, grayjay is for android and experimentally on desktop i believe

why should we stop using yt???
They are using ai to track our data to see how old we are. If they deem us under eighteen we are gonna be forced to give a picture of us, ID, drivers license, or credit card. Taking away our internet privacy.

They also treat good creators poorly, and ignore copyright issues when the person's popular, ex. ssniperwolf, also youtube kids is dangerous and unsafe so their ai thing isn't to protect kids it's for censorship, if they cared about kids f3t1sh content wouldn't have been on YT kids

i’ve heard about glomble from some friends. it seems promising. i hope it does well
although, i don’t know about odysee. from my research, it’s a blockchain project where videos can be monetized to earn cryptocurrency. also, the platform has no problem with videos espousing far-right conspiracy theories. but those other platforms are probably fine
ahh, newgrounds, though. it’s oddly heartwarming to know it’s still around and still the same newgrounds we’ve always known and loved

There’s these two sites that seem like a pretty good alternative: Niconicodouga and bilibili. Both of these have a lot of animanga stuff and have been pretty important in current otaku culture ! So if there’s anyone involved in it, I’d reccomend to check them out. :3
Sometimes I watch anime on bilibili and everything, it’s pretty good.
I actually do know about niconico! it will be added onto the list alongside with bilibili ^_^
