I finished season 2 about a week ago (sometimes I take breaks to do other things… like play awful games on Steam) and have thoroughly digested my thoughts on it.
It was disappointing. Not bad, but a lot of potential shown in the first season was forgone with this one.
I still enjoyed it and found it a good watching experience, but some things built up in the first season had no conclusion. Like the side plot about the son who fed his father to pigs, and his wife’s father was starting to suspect him? Nothing became of that. It just never really was brought up again. There were moments of the stepdad side-eyeing the son here and there but at no point was it ever formally addressed again, and therefore clearly not resolved.
A lot of sideplots introduced in the first season were just, sort of forgotten, and that’s really unfortunate.
The main characters of Anne and Ann were fine, they had spats and made up and it was all fairly believable. Their final spat was a little annoying because it was resolved indirectly and right at the VERY end but, at least it was concluded.
In the end, the show was good, but it could have been way better.
