Alright, so before I start talking about the situation, I’m just going to say that some of the information may not be true, I haven’t done much research on the entire situation, yet I would still like to talk about it, so don’t take what I say as solid evidence, this blog IS based on a recent rumor.
So, as most of the Roblox fanbase knows, there has been some recent drama going around these past weeks. One including the ban and cease and desist and the possible chance of said person facing legal action of the known online predator catcher known as Schlep.
Now in case you’re not exactly familiar with Chris Hansen; Chris Hansen is famously known for his work as a television journalist, mostly known for hosting the “To Catch a Predator” segment on Dateline NBC that had ran from 2004 to 2007, this segment was based around using sting operations to expose and confront individuals who had planned to meet up with underaged people for sexual purposes.
Schlep (as most of you know) had been known on YouTube for doing familiar things such as Hansen, going online (mostly Roblox/Discord) and posing as minors in order to get in contact with suspected predators, and apparently had helped arrest about 6 predators with help from another individual that will be unnamed along with the law enforcement.
And now to talk about the recent rumor about the documentary involving the child safety issues in Roblox, and had apparently (but not likely) reached out to Schlep (alright, if this isn’t some rumor this definitely isn’t the right timeline wtf). There hasn’t been much evidence surrounding this theory, but I’m still gonna add it to this post just because.
Many users of the platform had been boycotting it for it’s lack of care and safety for the many children using said app, with Roblox even facing a lawsuit from Liz Murril for failing the multiple victims of abuse and grooming. Not to mention that many other people around the playerbase had been protesting against the Roblox and its poor moderation, by putting #FreeSchlep in their usernames and reaching out to monitors to file complaints about the situation.
So yeah, this blog has gotten a bit too long. I know that this could be considered “third grade drama”, but I thought it would be fun to explain and spread awareness about said situation and drama.

Roblox sure aims for money over anything else, and I worry if this whole situation will be used as an example for the children's safety bill or whatever they call it in the US.
