THE LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL!!!

I'M SO EXCITED FOR TAYLOR SWIFT'S NEW ALBUM!! i just need to yap abt this because SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED AND EVERYTHINGS HAPPENING SO FAST. anyway I stayed up until the first announcement on the 12th (technically it was still the 11th for me at 11:12 pm cuz of the time difference) and let me tell you when I saw that the album cover was blurred... lol I think its so completely psychotic to announce the album is ready for preorders without any information about it or even the album coverrrrr. all we had was orange and mint green, and let me tell you, I was very skeptical about the mint green. did I pre-order the album anyway? well yes of course. little did I know what was happening on wednesday the 13th...

ok so I did know sort of what was coming? I knew about the podcast and that everything about the album would probably be revealed in the podcast, but I was still completely shocked by the events that took place that day. and when the little locks with the eras tour stage in the middle started showing up with the countdown on Taylor Swift's website... I knew it was going to be insane. I was actually at a family dinner when the countdown ended, so I couldn't act completely crazy. when the website updated I AUDIBLY GASPED and then excused myself to the restroom. OH MY GOD THE ALBUM COVER IS SO GORGEOUS??? like I CANNOT get over the silver dress and HER MAKEUP. the intense pink lip and the absolutely PIERCING blue eyes... and the colours make sense! like I said I was a bit skeptical of the mint green and orange combo, but after seeing the cover, everything clicked into place. its not actually a mint green, its like a water colour and the I like how the orange really is an accent colour. now for me, the real gag came a few seconds later with her instagram post. when I tell you that the images featured in her instagram post have altered my life forever... well first we have the album cover and then the tracklist photo, which is also the back of the vinyl. then the photo of her with the black bob is so gorgeous, and I love the shoes. then the next photo is just RAHHHHH like BODY TEAAAA the pose the bodysuit the chairs... its everything. but literally nothing compares to the next image. the last picture SHOOK ME TO MY VERY CORE. I was actually so completely stunned by this image like I will never be the same. does it feel like everything's just like second best after that meteor strike... well yes! so thank you, Taylor Swift.

and then the podcast. do I really have to say anything? it was amazing. it was so cool to see her in a setting like that because she really looks like a normal person. just a weirdo like the rest of us making puns about sourdough for ten minutes (that was the weirdest thing I've ever witnessed). it was so nice listening to her talking about getting all her music back, and like I almost cried when she was getting emotional over it. overall it was so fun to listen to, and it made me even more excited for the new album. I had BEEN SAYING we weren't getting a lover 2.0, I knew that wasn't happening. I really love how she's focusing on her career for this album, and how travis is really appreciating the work she put into this and truly supporting her goals. I don't really have huge opinions on him but I love how he's just as excited for this new album as she is. anyway im going to post another blog talking specifically about the tracklist and guessing what they're going to be about, and also create my own personal ranking for what I think my favourite songs will be.
