I feel like this isn't often talked about, but I'm tired of people who don't respect other people's tastes, beliefs, or personalities. Since I was little I've been a very energetic person, and I have to say that I know it bothered people, but I was happy. I was bullied for years for being who I am and it all got worse when I started to get interested in anime or geeky internet stuff...they called me otaku, furry, or emo, I never understood why, I'm not a furry, I don't wear emo clothes, and I don't watch anime 24/7 (currently I hardly ever watch it anymore).
The thing is, I'm tired and I know that there are people who go through the same thing as me and it bothers me a lot. What is it that improves your being by making fun of others? I have to admit that I've also made fun of some things, but every day I try to be a better person in this world, without prejudice and respecting everyone, which is what every person in this world deserves, no matter what they're interested in.
And the people who make fun of how you dress??? What the hell are you up to? Are you telling me that if I don't dress the way society approves, I can't be with you? or that you don't like me without even having met me? How can you be so stupidly dumb? What do you care if I wear pants that drag on me or a floral skirt? Does it affect you? No? Well, shut the fuck up because at least I don't criticize you for what you wear. If this world doesn't change NOW, we'll all go to shit and we'll be the worst race ever remembered. Why can't we all hug each other and live in peace? I know we are human and we make mistakes, but every day is an opportunity to be a better person than yesterday...love, peace and respect is all we need.

empathy shortage or insecurity
people who don't have empathy find it hard to understand the minds of others different from their own and become narrow minded and judgemental
insecurity can make people unconsciously project their problems onto others because of a fear of not conforming to society. by conforming to society they find a way to fit in to avoid being considered an outcast for being themselves
or social media influence especially from young kids
you are absolutely right

In my experience, bullying others doesn't to make you happier, but it's to cover up one's own lack of joy. As much as it sucks, keep in mind that no one making fun of you for anything is above what they are making fun of. If someone is truly secure in what they wear or how they look, they won't feel the need to poke at others' appearances. Overall, stay strong in expressing yourself!

Gosh, yeah, it really fucking sucks how people are so quick to be dicks to others for not fitting in their boxes of how 'normal' people should act. People just like being dicks unfortunately
