Deltarune predicted through Batman fanfic

I present to you the Batman fanfic I wrote for an actual english class and somehow predicted the “darker than dark” aspect of deltarune

(The teacher said it was impressive but “too impressive” for the class to understand)

“Gotham Bound On A Lamp”

It was a dark (k)night in Gotham and there was only a sliver of the moon. Like, really dark. The air smelled of gunpowder and Batman wasn’t even a silhouette, like you couldn’t see anything. So the only thing allowing visibility on the cargo ship was a huge spotlight. Only lighting up one spot. Just a spot of light. A very light spot from the spotlight lighting up the shipment of stethoscopes. After being washed up in the ocean Batman could only swim to the cargo ship. It was the only thing there. He was tired despite his nocturnal nature and longed for sleep. But he had something on his mind. A burning question. Before he washed up in the ocean he was in the basement of the Whitehouse. He remembered staying there with Alex. Alexander Hamilton. Batman was good with history, and according to history that guy was really old. He attempted conversation multiple times throughout his stay there but Alexander was really quiet. He seemed to spend most of his time staring at an old painting of George Washington. After Batman examined the painting himself something looked off. Seemed George had two pointy long teeth biting over his lip. Didn’t seem like a mistake of the painter but there’s no telling since George is dead. Was he a Vampire? Was Alexander not? Did batman look like a box of Tropical Punch Kool Aide (but black) to anyone? Probably not, he’s really pale because he’s probably never seen the sun before. But on that cargo ship, destined for land, the the spotlight was really its own little sun. One that disappears when its turned off during the day, outshined by our regular sun. Because when its pitch black there really no lamps. If a lamp is a lamp as long as its bright then the silhouette of a lamp is no lamp. Only shade. Because when darkness engulfs everything then there is no light producing objects meaning no light on other objects. So by that impeccable logic when a person stands in a truly pitch black room every thing stops existing, and the only thing thats real enough are the shapes you interpret. Like a face, a figure, a square and if you’re lucky your own hand. So in a closed off pitch black room the only thing thats real enough can hurt you is your imagination and with no absolutes there is no security in your mind which means that “lamp” is an interpretable form of inconsistency. Batman decided that was enough thinking and it was really time to sleep. So he slept on a tower of cargo facing the spotlight, curled up like a cat on top of it. Finding assurance in its object revealing glow.

There it is. I wrote it nearly a year before chapters 3 & 4 so I had no idea about “darker than dark” and I feel I kinda had that in the story with the “everything stops existing and the only thing thats real enough are the shapes you interpret”
