If y'all are at all in the Roblox space like I am (and have been for 15 years now) you'll know that Roblox has had a recently expansive track record of ignoring legitimate criticisms that the community has brought forth. I believe this new attitude towards its community really started when the company went public back in 2021 and has just spiraled from there as Roblox's leadership seeks to appeal to their shareholders rather than their community. This is, of course, referring to all the issues that the platform has had with "condo" games and predators.
It's gotten to the point where they are actively trying to silence people in the community who're trying to take matters into their own hands, like Ruben Sim and Schlep. Regardless of what you think of these two as individuals, you can't deny that the efforts they'd put into keeping bad actors off of the platforms was praised by the community and an over-all win for safety, especially in the case of RoCleaners, which has recently been nuked by Discord. Roblox wants to sit here and claim that we outta leave all of the safety measures in their hands, when they proved just a few months prior that they are completely inept when it comes to dealing with these creeps who're actively breaking TOS on their platform to groom children (referring to the Teddy situation, obviously).
Roblox would seriously benefit from community involvement in this matter. It's abundantly clear that the majority of the long-standing community want to make the platform a safe place, and people like Ruben Sim have gone through extensive measures to create systems that work. On top of that, these "vigilantes" have expressed how happy they'd be to work with Roblox to police the platform since they can't, or wont, do it themselves. Which brings me to my main point.
Roblox needs leaderships that actually freaking cares about this issue. David Baszucki is too far up his own butt to realize that HE is the problem. He is much too concerned with appealing to shareholders, trying to transform Roblox into some AI tech-bro product that's easier to sell, rather than embracing what it was meant to be. He is so focused on trying to make it an "everything product", fit for everyone, that he is actively losing sight on what Roblox even is. Roblox needs leadership that actually holds the platforms roots as something valuable, not just something to dig back up for cheaply-made events. It needs leadership that values the community that made it what it is, rather than viewing that community as a cancer on your "metavera AI" platform.
I know there's not much that we as users can do, as long as he's sucking up to the shareholders he's not likely to go anywhere. This is just a rant of my feelings on these matters. Roblox is a platform I care deeply about and I hate to see it being actively ripped apart by the people who steer the ship, and there's no end in sight.

And this is a KIDS' game.
A kids' game whose developers rake in millions of dollars and then sink themselves with every new update. They don't understand where they're going, and whoever is responsible for their ideas is definitely nuts.
I still have hope for David, that he isn't such a bad person, although perhaps money and control really do have a strong influence on people.

Incredibly glad to see folks really think about this. People are talking about the situation non-stop without any attention to who's in charge of the platform. Sick of it. David baszucki is a greedy, lying, coward.
Love to see how the community is responding, the constant pressure is good. We need to keep it up and we need to see genuine, foundational changes that focus on making ROBLOX the platform it's suppose to be.

It's omega disgusting what Roblox is like turning into from all the ai sim games, to the hunt ( or like one of the Roblox events ) where like that condo game maker was allowed back, the easter egg hunt having ai eggs, to the pedo problem that's getting worse and then the word UGC's that shouldn't exist to the DATING??? WHY IS THERE DATING?? Like who actively thought that was a good idea
Him constantly pushing to have dating as a main feature of the platform is disgusting since he's fully aware what the main demographic is for Roblox.

Baszucki wants it to be a main feature of the platform, it isn't yet. I don't see it happening so long as the community is pushing against it. But, it's clear that his priorities are skewed.

Only way he'll get removed from being CEO is if he does something to upset the shareholders, which he will not likely do as he is very keen on what makes them happy.
