I met Orang utans!!!

HELLOOO!!!

My friends and I went to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center on 25th July. It was planned by my friend out of a sudden. I also wondered why did she chose that place to hang out to begin with. Apparently, she told us that she wanted to have a date with her boyfriend there (awww so cutee). But since they can't make it, so she asked us out. It was honestly so fun.

The night before, she asked if we were free to go hang out. I replied quite fast, unfortunately, my other friend has something to do the next day, kinda.. So the next morning, my friend told me that we might not make it bc my other friend is busy. So it was like 9 a.m. when she told me about the plan and we all started to get ready. I got dressed and both my friend were waiting for me in the car bc I took too much time drying my hair (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞.. They were kinda mad about it but I tried to play it cool hehe (guilty asf)

It was already 11 a.m. ish when we drove off. We decided to eat lunch first before heading to Sepilok. Unfortunately, it was Friday... Friday noon here in Malaysia is for Muslims Friday prayer. Starting 11.20 a.m., all education istitute (from pre-school to colleges) end early so the students can go for Muslims Friday prayer, church, temple etc.. The road are always jammed bc of it and most Muslim owned restaurants will be closed for temporary, or still open but some menus might be unavailable due to the lack of workers. We have to go to three different restaurants bc of the same issue, their chefs are heading to go pray so the food available are limited or just something we're not a fan of.

At last, we went to the town center to find a "Mamak" place bc we just wanted to have roti canai. I wanted to eat a lot but since I haven't slept since the night before, I have to reduce my food intake so I don't get sleepy. When we arrived at the restaurants, the cook was eating. OMG I felt so bad, bc the restaurant was almost closed when we decided to come in and order our food. So the cook are non Muslim, so he immediately got up from his seat and stop eating once we complete our orders (we felt bad about it). But our tummy was rumbling and we need energy to go to Sepilok. That's a long way to gooo.

Once we finished eating, we went straight to our car and drove off to Sepilok. Here's the thing, three of us were born here in this district. However, none of us know or familiar with the roads and we have to rely on Google Maps. I would say I am used to the roads but ever since my eyesight got worse, I could not see a thing, thus why I have trouble remembering the way. It was a long drive from the town center to Sepilok (approximately 25.4km according to Google, but we chose the other way so the distance is probably longer)

Once we arrived there, we approached a local man to ask about the ticket booth. He asked us where we were from, as if we didn't just speak fluent Sabahan Malay to him. Well, he might be from the Peninsular cuz why would you asked us that? We had an idea since then to pretend we were from Thailand. HAHAHAHAHA

It was crowded with tourists speaking foreign languages. I would love to communicate with them but I was sweating so much, I felt uncomfortable to even have an eye contact with anyone. We have to wait for a few minutes bcz it was closed for lunch breaks.

Once we got our tickets, we were told to put our belongings (especially food if you have any) in the locker room so the Orang utans and monkeys won't snatch it away from you. There are two station (kinda) where you can watch Orang utan. The first one is indoor, it is a building with two air conditioned room and large glass window where you can sit comfortably on the designated seats or on the floor near the glass window where you can watch the Orang utans closer.

My friend and I was sitting at the front to get better views look at me just so busy taking pics and vids of the orang utans cuz they are so adorable ૮(˶╥︿╥)ა
Anotha one hehe
This one is my friend, OMG
she looked so tiny from this angle ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵)
A selfie of me ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ I looked pale af here bcz of the lighting of the room, irl im not this pale my skintone is quite yellowish and sometimes tanned bc well its summer everyday here

The guide got into the room and informed us the feeding session will be held at the outdoor station at 3 p.m.. All of us rushed there to get our seats and wait for the orang utans. It was so hot and humid there, how I wished the feeding session was held in the air conditioned room lol. Here, the orang utans and monkeys share the forest and roam freely.

orang utans and monkeys evening feeding session ( i have lots of vids of them eating but I get so tired of YouTube won't uploading my videos so this is all I got)

Our trip end a few minutes before the feeding session end because it was so humid inside the forest and none of us can bear to break more sweats. Walked to our car and headed back to the town center. On the way there I took the chance to take a nap since my body starts to dysfunction due to lack of sleep. I don't want to be the mood spoiler for the next few hours of our hang out so I decided to recharge although it wasn't comfortable at all and they both were arguing over something. I couldn't care less about anything and dozed off the entire ride back to the town center.

This will be the end of this blog, I might post a continuation of our hang out later when I wake up. It is currently 1.49 a.m. and my body is starting to shut down by itself. I don't have time or energy to proofread right now, but I'll do it later. Good night everyone, mimpi indah, mimpikan aku (づ> v <)づ♡

much love,

nanai
