ai limit i beated the game

it turns out the end was like 10 minutes behind the boss i just posted about
they just felt so final that i felt the need to take a break immidiately after

ok there IS another boss between that and the end but they're so baby easy. wasn't even an hour of playing left to beat the game for me.
the ending feels about how you would expect a soulsy game to treat you. do you want a congratulations for getting the normal ending? the worst one? the one that takes the least amount of effort?
it doesn't feel conclusive. it feels kinda bad. kinda makes you want to go back and get a different ending. i don't hate it honestly.

but now that i'm (sort of) done with it i can give thoughts that are final and conclusive about it instead of "so far i think... "

the combat has become a little ingrained into me. the parry to a really strong degree. it's like the fuckass dark souls/bloodborne/elden ring parry that happens after a delay so you have to be weirdly predictive about it. except i didn't use it when i played elden ring, and i haven't actually played bloodborne or dark souls. in this game i used it so much that occaisonally i go back to elden ring, and i find myself able to actually use the parry. is it good? i don't know, it's like run of the mill for a soulsy game but take that knowing i think the same of elden ring's combat.  but it's definitely combat i'll never forget simply because of the rewiring it has done to my brain. difficulty wise it was never really THAT hard, but it was good enough to stay interesting.

i really like it's level design. i already went off on this in the first post about this game, but just incase you have a fear it stagnates in quality or doesn't ramp up in difficulty enough to continue to be interesting, i don't think it has any problems like that. i love going through these levels for the first time as much as elden ring legacy dungeons and the smidge of bloodborne i've played.
there's even that entire area that is sort of a secret to reach in the first place, that lead me to a secret i couldn't even get to yet. i spent a good chunk of the game after that constantly wondering, "is there a secret path here? is this how i get to that arbotorium?"
and i mean eventually i was right so good for me.

god i fucking love the twliight hill

im pretty sure there's also something for a quest i missed there
there are parts of that map where i could see enemies walking around but could not for the life of me figure out how to get to them
there's probably a lot of things i need to revisit in this game
i know for a fact there's more. i will probably come back to the game one day so i can finish this, since i do want to actually see everything that's there. but that is not for today. or for even this year probably. for now i got the normal ending.

all in all pretty good i would recomend it to that one friend who likes elden ring but they kinda scared to touch the other fromsoft games because they hear a lot of iffy things about them.
get 'em to dip their toes in a little further.
