I took a couple trips over the summer, mostly rather small in the amount of time but i traveled about a good distance. I went to Denver two times, once for a wedding up in the suburbs and again into the downtown area. There are some really good vintage shops and clothing stores in the downtown areas and the suburbs there are some of the few that i would enjoy living in. In one area i got some terrarium supplies and taxidermized bugs for my collection which was great. I wish we had more shops like that in my area because they are hard to come by. Anyway there are also a lot of good coffee and tea places, though not too lively. Next i went to Chicago and did a whole bunch of things up there. We went paddleboarding along the city on Lake Michigan first and it was surprisingly nice water. That was the only day that was warm and sunny though so its a good thing we did water activities then. The next day we went downtown to the Art Institute and IT WAS UNIMAGINABLE. We didn't expect to spend the whole day there but there were so many art pieces and artifacts that it was impossible to see in just a couple hours. After that we had pizza downtown which was a little crowded. Next time i think we'll probably find a less crowded area to eat but it was still good. The day after that we went biking along the Lakefront all the way from the northside to the downtown area. This was definitely my favorite part of the trip and i loved how pedestrian friendly this area was. I could see so many people out enjoying the nice weather. The last place we flew to was Seattle and it was probably my favorite city i went to over the summer. We went there for a concert and didn't expect to enjoy the city as much as we did. The best things to do there from me is taking the ferry from the city to Bainbridge Island which is a really nice small town on an island in the Puget Sound, Go to Pike Place Market (A massive indoor marked full of local shops, groceries and fresh produce) And go to the Museum of Pop Culture (its a little pricey but has a lot of cool stuff about movies and books)
Best Shops from each city
- Denver: Terrororium Shop (Terrarium and Houseplant supplys)
- Chicago: idk just roll the dice and go to ANY vintage shop and it'll be amazing
- Seattle: ALABASTER OWL (this is SUCH A COOL SHOP in pike place market with all kinds of trinkets, jewelry, medieval themed cloths ect.) Its also a small shop underground so it adds a lot of cozy ambiance.
Best Coffee/Tea from each place
-Denver: Brown Palace Tea (A little pricey but serves full afternoon tea in a historic hotel)
-Chicago: FOOD TRUCKS on the street are just super good
-Seattle: Moore Coffee Shop (Cute cafe with super good chai, lattes and waffles) also has amazing latte art!
