What do y'all wanna be when y'all grow up?

This question still haunts some of us even after we grow up into an adult. We constantly ask ourselves, "Am I happy with this job?" or "Will this job pay me well?" or "Do I want a job??".

I, gonna turn 17 this year, plan to join the Air-Force. However there are doubts in my head like-

"This won't pay enough, are you sure you want to devote your entire life to defense?"

"Engineers get paid more"

"But many fresh engineers don't get jobs that easy here"
"Maybe I'm okay with joining the defense!"
"But it will be a strict life...."
"Maybe i don't want to have a job at all!! Maybe I will become some sort of youtuber!!"
"But that's a huge gamble"
"Maybe I should steal a boat, go to the nearest inhabited island and live the rest of my life in there"
"That's stupid....."
"Am I sure that what I'm doing is good for future me?"

I have spent countless nights awake thinking about this and I couldn't find a final answer.

SO, I came to an conclusion today.

Maybe the "job" is only 50% of my life, maybe I will have fun doing things in my free time even though I have a job, maybe I will find people like me, maybe I will get a hobby, maybe I will enjoy the journey and not the destination.

What do yall think?

unfortunately, u spend most of your life working so my advice is dont do something u totally despise because eventually you'll end up feeling drained most of the time that u wouldnt even want to go out on the weekends. i also wouldnt advise having ur hobby as a job because then you'll see it more as a chore than feeling enjoyment from it. just dont settle for a 9 to 5 for the sake of a good pay. i suggest also starting passion projects to really explore what u wanna do. you only get one chance at life so dont slave away to a job you dont like.

I guess that's a gamble, cause I'm never happy with one thing forever.
