Getting my first flip phone!!

Okay so, yesterday I switched to a flip phone for the first time in my life and holy crap. It is such a wild adjustment. Not having access to most things I used to have is really weird. I can call and text like I used to on my iPhone, but this is completely different. It's nice to have a cheaper cell phone bill though and to know what it was like for my parents at my age! Regardless, it's helped me get closer to my family and friends already and I can't wait to see how it goes for a longer period of time. If I ever get too fed up with it I might just get a used iPhone 7 lowkey

I got ZTE Cymbal 2! It costs about $30 CAD total per month with my phone plan at telus and for the phone itself

Ive been thinking of making the switch as well. I've already been using my smartphone less so and using my ipod, laptop, and dsi for things i would do on my phone. One of the big things holding me back rn is one of my friends is studying abroad and the only ways I can talk to him rn are through discord and whatsapp, and I wouldnt be able to get those on the phone im probably gonna get. but in like a year he'll be back in the states so I can switch then..

what phone did you switch to? ive been looking at a nokia 2780, or maybe even a cat s22

honestly thats so valid, it can be a lot more inconvenient to have to wait to respond to someone but what ive done is just using apps for communication from my laptop! i got the ZTE cymbal 2 and it still has an email app and a web browser, which im sure is pretty standard lol but regardless it hasnt been bad at all! some things just take a little bit more time and patience. i do highly recommend you keep your current phone powered down somewhere JUST in case (i did not but i now have to get an older phone because of my job)

nicee, that's a great idea! I had a cheap tracfone in middle school, those little flip phones that you could throw down a flight of stairs and it'd still work xDD got my first iphone in 2017 tho and haven't replaced it yet. i do kinda miss back when we weren't glued to a screen 24/7. the need for digital detox is so real lmao

Honestly it's been really nice. I don't think I'll do it forever because it is nice to have some more convenience, but sometimes I feel a bit spoiled for everything just being handed to me. I wanted to make life a little more intentional in a way and get away from how fast everything feels now.
