Why is it so hard to do makeup?!?!? I practice so much and I can never get the look down to how I want it! It might just be my lack of supplies as I only have one brush, one eyeshadow pallet, and one stick eyeliner :/ I am going to keep practicing, though! I just got my wisdom teeth out so I will practice after the swelling goes down!

I started out the same, with very few products and never getting anything right like how I expected it to be. But then I started to have fun with things, and I got more products to use: colorful eyeshadow palettes, purple and black lipstick, and even some colorful eyeliner and mascara. I started to experiment and let loose on any expectations I would have had with a pre-planned makeup look.
I think that in that way, I really learned how to do makeup and what worked best for me or even looked good on me, in terms of eyeshadow combos and eyeliner. I still do makeup for my own amusement, just to sit in my room. I had gotten some white foundation and experimented with gothic looks and have fun with more clownish faces every now and then.
Just like with artists, authors, ect., you may always be your own worst critic when it comes to makeup. I know I am. I still mess up looks all the time, even in the slightest ways, and I started wearing some makeup in 2019. Just have fun with it, be expressive, and if you mess something up or it doesn't come out how you thought it would, own it and make it yours. You'll always progress in different skills and techniques even if you don't realize it.
